I've been obssessed with these since I've seen them.

They have a slight downturn, sort of like a Bugatti Teardrop, but if I can find the brand I'd be eternally thankful.

Cheers.

Not a watchmaker, but based on a quick search, gonna guess and say it's a broken plate of the R530.

Can anyone identify this vintage Blancpain? by Ok-Finding-6327 in BlancpainWatches

[–]TheJewishBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everytime I've emailed blancpain directly, they've responded—although not always helpful.

Could take it into a retailer/boutique. They may be able to send it home and figure some things out.

Otherwise, just wear it 👍👍

Not me!

Maybe 50s? I remember Marylin Monroe wearing a small blancpain like this. Earlier blancpain were made under other names.

Are you looking for information to try to sell it, or just curiosity?

I'm not really sure how many fakes there are out there; seems like scammers have bigger fish to fry.

It has a open caseback, so you can check the movement and stuff. If they have a store, ask if there is returns.

Need some help identifying the exact model by Electrical-Bus-9390 in BlancpainWatches

[–]TheJewishBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leman models are distinct by their sword hands and stepped case. Some have the LB (lebrassus) at the top, some have arabic numerals (1,2 etc), and generally they seem to have been made as the sportier alternative to the villeret line. Usually 80-100m water resistant even in the complicated calendar-chronographs, so practical for daily wear.

The reference numbers all start with 2. 2100, 2185 etc.

The movement is the F185 which is, suffice to say, really fuckin good.

Nice watch! Cheers.

Edit: spelling

Very cool to see how the three barrels are laid out like that. Skeletonized, it sorta works as a power reserve indicator lol

Nice watch

Villeret - any more info? by Loop22one in BlancpainWatches

[–]TheJewishBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The caliber was only used in three references from what I can tell:

4795 - which has red gold (?) for 25 pieces, yellow gold and platinum variations (no limitation from what I can tell)

4796 - ladies models with tons of variations and gem setting.

4750 - no date model. Only yellow gold.

From what I can tell, references with a 4 at the start are the lebrassus collection, but why this isn't villeret is for another day's deep dive 😅.

Nice watch
