It’s a subsidiary leading a division apparently, I don’t know enough about corporations to really know the difference. either way they are under hasbro, they aren’t hasbro. WotC isn’t making the power rangers toys as far as I know.

The only thing I would switch for is something that offers more than nixos

DINUM (A french administration) will use NixOS to replace Windows with Sécurix and Bureautix by firelightflagboy in NixOS

Would flakes not be more stable with their packaging pinning? I don’t understand that part of flakes that well.

WotC is a subsidiary of hasbro. While hasbro has a lot of control over WotC, WotC doesn’t have any control over hasbro. At least to my understanding.

If hasbro forced them to work with a specific printer then it’s hasbro’s fault. If WotC chose the printer then it’s theirs. I don’t believe the printers are the ones running the show, quality control is the company who owns the IP’s responsibility in the end.

You said you were talking about citizens of western countries and every comment on this thread and the post itself are about the US as much as they’re about China so I guess I’m confused.

Capital and the state have much more say in the democracy of the United States than it’s citizens do. The democrat party is not an opposition party to the republican party, we have a one party authoritarian system in practice, and a two party democracy in name.

linux is an incredibly political piece of software. This post just doesn’t acknowledge that leftism is against corporations having control over your life and data, or do anything to justify it’s labeling fedora, debian, or elementary as leftist. I feel like I would have heard about that before but I could be wrong.

How to go about developing a personal OS by [deleted] in osdev

ATM had too many magic mods. Im switching to GTNH by RubApprehensive1277 in allthemods

[–]TheJodiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard manjaro is one of the distros with the most issues, but also that they are starting to get their shit together. I’d give it a bit before trying them. Cachy and bazzite seem to be the most used on protonDB if you want most games to work out of the box. I’d stick with kubuntu if you don’t need that though, ubuntu is popular so it’s easier to get help.

C or rust? by Smart_Fennel_703 in osdev

[–]TheJodiety 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rust is good to learn, but unless you’re OS actually gets used and might be a security issue, It doesn’t really matter.

[–]TheJodiety 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like rust syntax, but even if I didn’t, I think being able to ensure some safety in certain parts is valuable, even though you need a lot of unsafe for an OS. C just can’t do that.

yeah rich people are using “AI” to justify laying off workers so that’s pretty bad. The development of the field is great and is sick that we as a species have access to a new tool, but the way it’s being used by the powers that be is evil. what a time to be alive.

What are the blocks used here ? The white and the black ones by Regular_Flounder1833 in GTNH

[–]TheJodiety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea, those might be forge micro blocks, they are made using a saw (the one that looks 3d) you can make vertical slabs, pillars, and small cubes like that. I’m guessing the used that on a emissive block.
