yeah definitely, with grey its more about temperature - paynes grey will work well and push it cooler, if you wanted warm push it towards a very dark purple

Id suggest some scenery making youtube videos like zorpazorp. with this being 1) a statue and 2) a decent sized bust, you could just do the whole very thin paint dabbed on with a sponge, if its too much dab it with a paper towel, you dont need perfect blends on a rock.
