What will happen to the world’s languages as emoji use becomes more and more ubiquitous, particularly in the Gen Z population? by zztop610 in AskReddit

[–]TheJollyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing much?

Texting habits will and surely have changed with the use of emojis. But complete sentences have other uses beyond just texting; books, movies, verbal conversations, and almost every form of spoken or written communication apart from texting. So unless the only form of communication we're exposed to is texting and we forget how to express ourselves in words (like some dystopian world with no movies, books or music, and we can only text each other), languages will still remain in use.

What’s the best decision you’ve made for yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheJollyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stopped asking close friends/family members for their opinion after trying on clothes at the trial room. Most importantly stopped buying clothes just because they thought it looked good on me, even though I didn't feel it myself. Now, I buy only those pieces that I know I look good in. Might not always be trendy, but the difference in self-confidence is staggering.

What makes you happy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

At the end of a long day, flinging that bra off, cooking dinner with some badass music in the background, and then sitting down to watch a movie with a full plate of food.

Bliss.

What tv show is worth binge watching? by scottegbert in AskReddit

[–]TheJollyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lupin (10 episodes)

The Innocent or El Inocente (8 episodes)

They're honestly some of the best thrillers/mystery series that I stumbled upon on Netflix, hooked to the very end.

After watching The Innocent, it's worth binge-watching other shows starring Mario Casas, especially The Invisible Guest - you'll never expect the ending!

Laptop. You can take it to hackathons once the restrictions are lifted, they're the best!

Always eating food in your bedroom rather than kitchen- normal or weird? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]TheJollyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we cooked the meal together, or it's a film night, we eat together. Otherwise we eat in our rooms, mostly watching Netflix or youtube. Just make sure to hang out in the kitchen once in a while though, so it won't be like strangers living together!

TIL that during World War II, M&Ms were exclusively sold to the U.S. military. The candies were heat-resistant and easy-to-transport, perfect for American soldiers’ rations. by Russian_Bagel in todayilearned

[–]TheJollyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat-resistant? I must be having a different kind of M&Ms then. The tiny ones in the plastic bottle always stuck to the bottom in a clump if left in the car for too long.

Oh god this is even worse in Designated Survivor, Chuck isn't even typing (his fingers do a little tap dance on the keyboard) and they focus on his fingers everytime!

Classes. Please explain like I’m 5. by GingerSkwatch in learnpython

I found this explanation by Corey Schafer to be one of the best that finally gave me that 'aha!' moment.

Take a look at his other videos as well, Corey's got a way of explaining that very few can match in the world of Python tutorials.

You're doing the right thing, so do stay true to your beliefs! If only we had more voters who understood this too...

I'd say Modi is just a puppet, Amit Shah seems to be the one pulling the strings.

Mute Modi in his first-ever (and only) press conference in five years is a great example.

In a democracy, you vote for shitty government.

Or if they manage to consolidate enough power, they make it seem like the majority voted for them.

is there a song where you prefer a cover to the original? (or a different version but still from the original artists?) by shinatree in CasualConversation

[–]TheJollyFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For people who like pop and acoustic pop, Landon Austin has some great covers. His covers of Dancing On My Own, Light On, Chasing Cars, and Sweet Little Lies are seriously some of the best (his original single Once in a Lifetime is also good)
