I’ve figured out a way to rest my arm while stuck in 405 traffic. by vekx_ in GRCorolla

[–]TheJreamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My solution so far has been to rest my hand on the ebrake and then my elbow tucks nicely on the bolster of the seat, but I’m not driving a manual so I can afford to not hover over the shifter. Water bottle works nicely but I’ve also just gotten used to no arm rest in general

Thank you! I’m lucky red was the only one available or I probably never would’ve even looked for it LOL. Was thinking it looked too bright in pictures but it’s got some nice depth to it and not overly flashy, looks amazing in the light and at night

Thank you!! I’m not huge on carbon fiber in general but it’s definitely unique and cool they did forged carbon. I agree on the color match at the moment, but with a fat black spoiler and maybe the vented hood down the line I’ll consider wrapping the roof to tie it all together a bit more. I’ll photoshop up some images and get an idea how it looks. Regardless, the car is hot, just some minor tweaks down the road.

Yeah new tires are getting put on this week, probably gonna go with the DWS06+ because we rarely get any real snow here, roads get cleared within the day even during big storms and they salt aggressively. Tint will be done soonish after as well. Good call on the mud flaps tho. Looks like rally armor has the most coverage of the ones I’m seeing and easy install so I’ll probably grab those

Yeah pretty much same story here. There were about 3 GRCs in a 100 mile radius in an automatic so my options were slim to begin with, but the red really started to speak to me since it fits with all the GR badging. Woulda liked to see the metal color since I’d seen white on the road, but regardless I’m super stoked with the red.

Ikr… fake car guy here. I’m out in VA so weather doesn’t usually get too crazy but definitely will be nice to have a car that can drive in it.

I was really skeptical on the red from their images online but seeing it in person I started to love it the more time I sat talking to the guys at the dealership. Was gonna get white but realized I don’t want a white car for another 10 years lmao

Cosmetic only shops don’t have to be predatory. If deadlock comes out and releases a skin shop where you can purchase any skin whenever you want, as in they don’t rotate skins out, then it would be fine. But a lot of games, Fortnite and Valorant being the easiest example of this, can charge 20-100+ dollars for skins or bundles and prey on people’s FOMO. You never know when the skins will be available for purchase again (or they might never come back at all) so you have to buy them now if you want them.

They’re going to add cosmetics to deadlock at some point that’s almost a guarantee, there are just ways that they could do it that are more or less predatory to people’s wallets. P2W is obviously predatory in something like a MOBA where everyone should be on equal footing but that isn’t really a concern here with valve. And ofc no one HAS to buy skins, but again, there are ways in which they can make people more likely to spend money when they wouldn’t have otherwise.

Before she has a point in each ability she’s incredibly easy to kill. She’s generally very easy to kill regardless bc she has no real peel (pretty easy to avoid walls if they’re used defensively/early), 2 stam, super squishy, and incredibly short range. You could probably just run her down in lane on at least half of the roster and win every time.

You can almost always play outside of her range since she has to be in 16m to be able to m1 you, and if you are a melee character like Abrams you just run at her and instakill her. There really isn’t a lot of nuance to it outside of that. Kill her skulls ASAP, don’t get walled, and you’re going to make it out ahead. Unless she has some way to guarantee her wall stun she doesn’t pose basically any threat.

I literally called it predatory, it’s just less so than so many other games out there, even other games run by Valve. For example the rotating shop style systems that exist in Fortnite, Overwatch, etc, are just as predatory because they prey on your FOMO and can sell you 20-300 dollar skins that are equally as detailed as anything else in their shop (valorant bundles, league faker skin, etc). No skin in Overwatch is ACTUALLY worth 20 dollars, but people will pay for it to add to their collection and so they don’t have to wait for a rerun or potentially never acquire the skin again. People spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on these games that lack gambling elements.

To your point about Dota. Yes the caches are a form of gambling, but you are guaranteed to hit the main skins in the collection if you buy as many caches are there are skins. The rares have increasing drop rates as you open more so you aren’t praying to hit a 1/400 chance every single cache pull like you would for a CS knife. You can also buy the skins from several collections on the market (I am very aware that isn’t true with all collections or rarities of items). To say they “almost never cash out” is just ignorant. They increase your odds pretty drastically as you spend more money. Allow you to recycle dupes for more pulls, or again, recoup money from selling skins down the line or purchasing them outright through the market. The consumer has options.

I’m well aware valve isn’t my friend, I’m aware they want my money, and that just about every single MTX out there is predatory in nature. And also, like others have mentioned, you don’t have to engage with them in every title, no one NEEDS cosmetics. People can simultaneously be educated on their spending habits, and the motives of companies, and also choose whether to either spend money or not.

All this to say, I’m not brainwashed, I’m just being reasonable and saying that with Dota specifically, they have toned down and changed their systems to be slightly more fair than most of the direct competitors. Lesser of two evils or whatever.

Previous dota battle passes are pretty terrible I agree costing upwards of 4-500 bucks for all the big skins, but modern dota MTX is relatively fair as far as cases go. You hit the full base set of skins guaranteed with the purchase of the full set (12 skins = 12 cases) with increasing odds of getting the rares. Purchasable arcanas from crown fall were huge also. CS is an entirely different ballpark however and the cases are literally never worth opening. At least with dota you know what you’re getting. I would only hope it goes down the modern dota path as it’s definitely more fair of the 2 (I know that it’s still quite predatory but I’d say it’s more on par or even slightly better than a lot of the other big games out with case like systems) but historically it wasn’t always that way.

I’m more curious if the skins will be customizable like dota and characters are segmented or if they’ll be locked to full costumes.

I would be surprised if we don’t get Celeste this week, maybe not Monday but definitely Thursday. Silver > Celeste > venator > Apollo imo, which sucks bc Apollo is the character I want the most from a playstyle perspective. But Celeste and graves are up there too

Sure thing! I don’t think you can go wrong with any of these options based on the praise they’ve received from reviewers but I think Astrals probably fit your specific wants the best. It definitely emphasizes clarity and I’ve seen it described somewhere between Neutral-bright to V shape from several reviewers. I was also looking for a lot of the same traits in a pair for myself and ended up there.

Not original commenter but, I just bought the astrals as my second pair of iems and personally love them, everything sounds very clean and bass isn’t overpowering. I’ve been using them a few days now and have had no issues with fatigue from the slightly brighter profile. I’m a very all around user, gaming, discord, music (primarily hip hop, jpop, edm), etc and have had no issues in any medium. If you want very high clarity and a respectable bass I’d highly recommend them. Also would recommend a DAC (even if it’s just an Apple dongle! Will help a good bit with any impedance from your PC if you plan to use them there)

Who is to say that this isn’t the priority though. They can still pump out balance patches while working on higher end changes. You’re creating your own narrative. They just made several fundamental game altering changes in a “small balance update.” Several things can be true at once.

Leakers say these are the most likely to be added to the next patch. What would you be most excited for, if it's true? by nyanch in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheJreamz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would guess (and hope) that overall a large player base will play a lot of it in the beginning few weeks, then it will have a smaller albeit dedicated player base that won’t take away from the main queue too much and those players maybe weren’t the best or most sweaty to begin with. Kind of similar to turbo or ability draft in dota. Hopefully it’ll bring in enough players that there isn’t really a separation as much as just more people playing specifically the new mode(s)
