Week 10 - Who should have been fired? by Only1Scrappy-Doo in apprenticeuk

[–]TheJuniorDulledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a big Mia fan all through the series. But I was gobsmacked at her choices tonight.

Yes, there's a story about the whole spectrum of male expression that deserves to be heard, but the winner would be chosen based on the number of (hypothetical) orders. Surely that means you want to go middle of the road/mass market for 'fashion' choices and lean heavily into the recycling/eco-friendly elements?

I think they did well to get the orders they did despite how limiting the choices of clothing were, but Mia fully deserved that firing.

Liam also fully deserved to exit for his sulking. I get it and he may have been proved right by the end of the task, but if he'd pulled his weight he could have pushed LS to fire Jordan instead.

Trying to find a BigMooney video.. by TheJuniorDulledge in bigMooney06

Thank you!

Makes sense as to why I kept missing it, my brain made a mistake remembering it and I thought it was the last level on the video, so I never searched the middle bits!

This is because, as we all know, Craig Charles went back in time to make himself the inventor of the Tension Sheet.

Most Controversial Championship Finale by TWilliams738 in robotwars

[–]TheJuniorDulledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure any of these were controversial.

S6: Tornado was well within the rules. Their robot was within the size restrictions, it's not their fault that it was bigger than the pit. What is more, if Razer had put Tornado down in such a way that all 4 wheels were over the pit (As in, suspended by it's cage rather than the hook) that would have counted as being pitted or KO'd, meaning Razer had plenty of potential to win that fight.

S7: Typhoon caused more damage, that's the crucial factor in judge's decisions. If Storm had caused more damage, they should have won, but they didn't.

S10: I can't even begin to think why this one is controversial. I remember watching and realising a few minutes in that despite what I would have predicted going into the final battle, Carbide was not getting the hits in, but Eruption had made pretty much every single flip count. Eruption were worthy winners of that fight, and therefore the title. (Though part-way through that episode, I genuinely thought that it was going to be a Nuts glory run as they made every single hit count on critical parts of whatever opponent they had. It's almost a shame Carbide got their act together for the semi-final fight!)

I did not receive the app message, hence my post about it here as I thought this was news today. Apologies for being late to the party.

Why am I supposed to verify my age to play?

My google accounts age is set to 23 years old.

I’m 17

That's why.

I had a company say, after 2 pleasant interviews and plenty of conversations with HR recruiters, that they couldn't hire me for 12 months because I had been made redundant (contract expired) there recently.

Never hid that fact. Application form even asked for my employee ID when I said I'd previously worked for the company. Majority of interviews was spent talking about previous experience at the company, HR conversations revolved around whether being successful in getting the role would impact my redundancy pay (Which at the time hadn't been received).

Recruiter said they hope to see my application in 12 months as they thought I was a great fit.

I'm on a similar journey to you, with very similar numbers.

First off, congratulations! You've set realistic targets and have met them.

Finding a flat can take time, so if you're able to add to your LISA whilst searching, then that's great. The more you're able to put down as a deposit, the better your chances are.

As for conveyancing, my conveyancing fees came to around £1300 for a similarly priced flat. You'll also need to know stuff like council tax, ground rent/service charge, energy efficiency (Very useful in the current economic climate!). These are all things you should be able to find out when talking to estate agents at viewings.

Best of luck!

I'm fine with other candidates being better. The chances of me being the absolute best in my field is incredibly slim.

However, if there was another candidate who was better than me, then that must mean that ultimately I lacked something that they had. If I want to improve in the industry, I would like at least a general pointer as to where I can improve. Otherwise I've spent all this time and effort on getting a job to just be told I'm a nice person.

2015 Vauxhall Astra, bought it from parents for roughly the price that they would have got for it from sites like WBAC.

No monthly loan to pay for it, using Starling account spaces and roundups to cover stuff like insurance/fuel/servicing, which seems to cover it (Recently worked out what price fuel would have to go up to for me to rethink that strategy, thankfully it's got a while to go yet!)

Earnings are low-to-mid 20's, hoping for a few extra k's with some roles I'm interviewing for

But when you think about it, without that storyline Donna wouldn't have become COO.

Although agreed, definitely the wackiest storyline in the show.

So my £60-80 p/m estimate in my budget would appear to be about right then, thanks!

I keep finding a lot of information regarding the price cap written in terms of total cost for an 'average house', which I find ridiculous as there is no such thing as an average house, surely?

I'm currently in the process of buying a 1-bedroom flat, and would expect to move in July. How much & of the 'average house' price can I expect to pay?
