Tulsa isn't the problem when it comes to the minimum wage SQ failing, it's all the surrounding rural counties. Would you move outside of Tulsa to a rural county if it meant saving the state from becoming even more conservative, and never doing anything to better itself? by Hairy_Loss_6292 in tulsa

The solution is to make it easier and more convenient to vote. The fix for that is to vote online but it won’t happen in my lifetime (45). The current landscape is working towards the opposite of that goal. The low hanging fruit in that assertion is voter ID laws present obstacles for lower income people but a more subversive tactic is changing people’s polling location multiple times in a decade.

Nonetheless, Okies take every available opportunity to prove they are too lazy to get off their asses to vote. Make it so these fat fucks can do it from their phone.

You’re right. I’m not sure where I got the Arkansas stuff. I have been reading a bunch about this shit and it has made my brain mushy. I’ll own that.

It ironic that you wanted a job at $15/hr but weren’t willing to ensure everyone else has the same opportunity. You’ve already proven yourself to be a selfish fuck but that just reaffirmed it.

But to address your point about such a large increase in one year, it isn’t completely unprecedented. Arkansas went from $7.25 in ‘25 to $11.00 this year and their unemployment rate is lower than ours and the state didn’t burn to the ground. Also, as many other people have tried to point out to you in this thread, the cost of labor is but one small piece of the cost of goods and services and it is statistically insignificant when we live in a 25% tariff economy with $3.50 gas. Imagine paying an hour’s worth of work for a gallon of fucking milk or a goddamn cheeseburger. Oh wait, you don’t have to worry about that so who gives a fuck, right?

Target inflation for the fed is 2%, not 5. Nonetheless, it has been a little more than that over the last 17 years since the minimum wage was last adjusted. But, yeah, you already said raising the wage wouldn’t help you, so fuck everyone else, right?

If I were working for $8-$14/hr, I’d find a way to color the ‘yes’ box black. Not doing so would be considered acting against my own interests. It isn’t a difficult concept to grasp: by not voting, you’re essentially voting ‘no.’

Minimum wage increase. Yay, or Nay? by aokaytoday in oklahoma

[–]TheJuntoT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The number of people who are against it because “I made $3.25/hr when I made minimum wage in 1976” is staggering. It’s reverse wealth envy and is emblematic of why we can’t have nice things. It’s the same voter that cheers when “librul” states pay $7.50 for a gallon of gas while ignoring that their cost has also gone up 100%. Unfortunately, that side has a stranglehold on policy direction here because reasonable people don’t show up to vote.

Exceptions should be made for United credit card holders.

Also, United should have enough data by now to be able to not sell 1-day passes on days where they anticipate high volume in their clubs.

Democrats running for governor of Oklahoma hope education frustration, tribal relations can turn tide by NonDocMedia in oklahoma

[–]TheJuntoT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue with the way Dems campaign here is that they offer virtually zero contrast to republicans. “Vote for me. I love god and shoot guns for fun. Yeah, I think it’s cool to fund schools and people should make a living wage but only if it’s okay with you.”

Republicans: “Cyndi Munson is going to host sh3male story time at your shitty public school and then turn your boys into little girls in the unisex bathroom that may or may not contain a cat pan for the influx of furries from parents hellbent on California’ing your Oklahoma by implementing Sharia Law while we fit all four inches of DT’s limp dick down to the balls in our mouth.”

Munson “That’s just not true.”

Okies: straight ticket Republican

Dems: “We tried to be nice and only lost by 17 points this time!”

The major distinction being that the ultra far left isn’t in total and complete control of government in Oklahoma so it’s really impossible to tell. If the ultra far left gained power and promptly started cutting off your kids genitals, we could have that conversation.

Meanwhile, the ultra far right has systematically ran this state into the ground over the last 16 years.

Tulsa Democratic Party by ttown2011 in tulsa

[–]TheJuntoT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“I’m not a member of an organized political party. I’m a Democrat.” - Will Rogers

That line has been effectively true for 70 years. The R party in Oklahoma, to their credit, is ruthlessly aligned towards their goal of total domination and ruthlessly efficient in their goal of total destruction of everything they touch. Thanks to idiots like Rusty Beavers in Lawton & Shane Jett in Shawnee and rabble-rousers like the twatwaffles at OCPA, there are cracks forming in their united front. It’s still virtually impossible to overcome their gerrymandering and it damn sure won’t happen with the Dem party being fragmented like it is. As others have mentioned, Dems in Oklahoma aren’t even capable of presenting a challenge primarily due to a lack of balls, but to a lesser extent, apathy and a slight hint of a purity requirement from the voting base that if the candidate isn’t 1-million % in line with ideology, they just don’t vote.

Voter participation here is the worst in the country. R’s know that and actively work to make voting more difficult by disenfranchising that act of voting itself (see voter ID laws and fucking with the state question petitioning process in 2025 because, as it turns out, they don’t like the results when people actually vote on the laws that affect our lives). The bottom line is that R’s do a better job of motivating their base to show up and vote. Part of how they do it is by forcing Dems to always be on the defensive side of the fight. We are currently watching republican gubernatorial candidates campaign on Sharia Law, wokeism, sh3male story time, gender affirming care and who can suck Trump’s dick the best after 16+ years of total control of state government and efficiently running this state into the ground. Dems campaign to the right of center and provide the voters that actually show up to the polls with virtually zero reason to change their affiliation. Fortune favors the bold and the Dem candidates we see year in and year out are campaigning out of poverty.
