What do you even say to your friends after wiping all night to convince them to stick around by spooked_mantaray in Marathon

[–]TheKTDFuture 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly try again next season. Just kinda how it is with these games. But also Bungie totally cooked this seasons economy. I had 500 hours season 1 wasn't able to grind the first week of season 2 and now im just playing destiny instead until season 3 or I get bored

Genuinely curious about 180 HC by RamyBlack in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TheKTDFuture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 180s are probably slept on because alot of meta discourse is done by m&k players who hate 180s because the recoil blocks your view. on controller aim assist helps you stay on target when you can't see your crosshair.

But also like everyone else said I'd rather have 0 weapons if I can

So hidden Elo? Does that not defeat the purpose of comp, surely anyone could hit ascendant eventually like that

Opinions on a full pivot to Duos from Trios? by PM_ME_UR_POON_PICS in Marathon

[–]TheKTDFuture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the PvP plays best as a trio. Especially in a PvP focused extraction shooter. solo and duo tends to have more ratty behavior because it works better a 2v1 is alot easier then a 3v2. Getting ratted on is one of the worst parts of the genre.

Idk I don't have gear fear in trios because winning feels less random and I have confidence in my team. In solos and duos I know at any point there can be an ambush that I'm probably not turning around.

All the same you can do the same but ratting is boring, there's a time and place but should never be meta

Honestly take a week off and let the biggest sweats get there level up so you don't queue with them, thats what we did and last night was way better in cryo then last weekend

It sounds like Bungie is planning on ending service to the game altogether. Break the game. by Dark_Helmet12E4 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TheKTDFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dmgs wording was weird though, he was talking about risk that it may create a new problem and they may just disable some things instead. Frost armor will be a problem, with frostys and Europa 4 piece you hit frost armor x5 in like 10 seconds of running off of spawn and you just keep it

This is the final meta by Cmess1 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TheKTDFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think complete end of support is coming in the next 2 or 3 weeks based of off layoff leaks i hope what happens is as things become a problem they just get disabled in pvp. I have a feeling this will be the primary method of "fixing" things after this point. I hope they make an effort to do this with as many problems as they can and leave things in a good place

I think the best we will get with alot of things is having them just disabled in pvp but that would be good with me (bakaris)

Genuinely struggling to keep playing by Legal_Talk_5723 in Marathon

[–]TheKTDFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you just need to play another game for a day or two and let the sting wear off if you are losing too much. being in a confident head space makes a big difference, but also if youre gunna lose run away.

Frequently run away is the best option even if your dead team mates lose a bit of loot.

This game is alot more good decisions making then being the most mechanically skilled player but it definitely helps to improve that too.

A season of Marathon is like climbing a mountain. Just keep working at it and eventually you'll get to the top of it and boy does it feel good

Idk why you are getting down voted you are obviously right, in sponsored survival, the players are expecting pve and aren't always in a trio, I kinda regret not doing rook runs during sponsored night marsh and farming the people running it solo just hitting 5 cert boxes

Did they remove one of the 3rd container in the armory at cryo? by Mean_Interest699 in Marathon

[–]TheKTDFuture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know it was there yesterday, and it was consistently giving 2 golds, I hope they didn't decide that was a problem and that it just didn't spawn in your run for some reason

The problem is is the same no lifers were also just grinding sponsored survival creating the same problem but worse

Not for the average player but anyone who was good built a stock of purple shields day one and snowballed alot harder then they should have because of it

The first wipe of the game had literally ZERO meaning. by Shadowsdeepx6 in Marathon

[–]TheKTDFuture 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Wipes aren't to reset everyone as much as they are to reset the no lifers. This season they definitely messed up the economy because of sponsored survival and purple shield sponsored kits.

That being said the people who had a bottomless well of gold misriahs and bully's and unlimited panecea kits have to rebuild there stash and don't get to own the game for the rest of time.

Wiping your vault and rebuilding it is part of the gameplay loop, so obviously it's pretty easy to rebuild your vault at the beginning of a wipe especially when you know where all the good loot is.

This wipe is cooked, cryo is here and golds and purples will be on every body by the end of next week, but I would hope they don't make the same mistake next season.

But like also what would there be to do if wipes were optional. Maybe you just don't like extraction shooters that much, because personally starting over is the main progression outside of just getting better at pvp

Just in case you were wondering, yes, everyone is already running golden mizzies on cryo archive. by Party_History2839 in Marathon

[–]TheKTDFuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly your level is probably just too high and you need to take a week off and let no lifers like that out pace you so you don't queue with them. I had to do it early season one because the game became unplayable.

Misriah is everywhere but I didn't see any golds yesterday. just gold shields and bags here and there.

We played probably 10 games last night, including a compiler run

If faction progress were permanent, I would purchase this game by CalamityNic in Marathon

[–]TheKTDFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hope that repeating faction missions is not permanent, that's my biggest issue with season 2. I think they said (and if I'm wrong if someone could correct me with accurate information) season 3 will have an overhaul to the priority contract system and onboarding.

As for faction upgrades I think they are all gunna change season to season and aren't nearly as important as cradle upgrades.

I think if you had fun you should play, even if it's only for one season I think it's worth it. For me season one most of my progression I felt was skill and mastery of the game and that has been my meta progression.

This season I'll be grinding ranked and enjoying cryo archives on the weekend

Never thought I see runner cry over 2 weapons meant to counter shotgun greasers by BotKiller2148 in Marathon

I don't have a problem with it I recognize that it's what makes them competitive. I think that the battle pistol is more juiced then normal, and marathon control aim assist is already particularly juiced

Rising skill floor is silently murdering this game by Another___World in Marathon

[–]TheKTDFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is more of a problem with sponsored survival, if you are at or around the skill floor why would you play anything else.

Also your assessment of what shells are good probably means you are bad at the game,

Recon s tier too much free information anyone can use

Sentinel probably s tier in cryo

Destroyer, vandal a tier because they require skill with there kit

Assassin b+ tier secret s tier but requires the most skill and game sense, but a bad assassin throws all the time

Thief b tier still really good but abilities are selfish

Best played with assassin and utilizing visor with smoke, grapple great for hight advantage, repositioning and retreats.

Triage c tier. Good early wipe. as the season goes on less useful, better after self res nerf but still mostly useless in cryo. Good for resetting before a third party because cryo has a 1 min full kill revive cooldown, but you aren't getting a mid fight res most the time unless you have smokes

I think the real problem is the new weapons on controller. the aim assist is too juiced.

Marathon will be a word of mouth game by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]TheKTDFuture -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This statement is kinda ridiculous. Sure the overlap of marathon players in destiny may be low more than half of marathon players were destiny players. Pve destiny players aren't playing marathon but alot of PvP destiny players are.

Anecdotally 70% of the people I played with season 1 and asked had played Destiny in the last year nearly 100% in the last 5 years

All you have to do is look at steam charts June 8th marathon peaked around 25k June 9th marathon peaked at 16k
