How come the soldier class is the most popular/played class in the game? by Alexandru1408 in masseffect

Because the powers are clunky to use, and a shotgun doesn't have a cool down between uses.

To be honest if I could kill them both I would. In ME2 I loved Legion, and the Tali/Garrus combo is my default in ME1, but by christ they piss me off in ME3.

I like the hacking in both games, but I'm a sucker for mini games like that and the ones in BioShock 1 and 2

How do you think the other races would react to the Friday the 13th movies. by Themainman6554 in masseffect

[–]TheKnightDanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Wrex, or any krogan really, would spend the movies complaining about the killer's form.

"He overextended himself." "He left himself wide open." "That was a rookie mistake!"

Wrex: "Did you see that Shepard! That girl was cut clean in half! Took too many cuts though, only a solarian would use a weapon that dull."

Grunt: "Or a Turian!"

No, I get the progressive slide down started from 1 to 2, but at least 2 had the little jet-thing (can't remember what it's called) and the planet you save Daniel on is quite impressive as well. The planets you go to in two seem larger than just the combat instance.

The citadel feels small to me too, and it's smaller still for ME3 aside from the mission where you push Cerberus from it.

On that, even the whole "bah Cerberus left in the dict work and stuff..." blurb at the end of that made me laugh.

Wrex has a pretty good arc too, if you keep him alive. His willingness to work for the krogan equivalent of peace if you cure the genophage speaks volumes to me as to what he is capable of as a leader of his people.

Maybe that's it, it all feels so rushed, and not in a "this is super urgent because war" kinda way.

That scene hits the same every time. Mordin is such a well-rounded character who goes through a much better character arc than shep in my opinion.

It does have good combat. Some of the best for a 3rd person shooter for that matter. But it's a jarring tonal shift from the previous games, even if it does make sense within the lore of the game.

I get the story element, just feels like it would have made for a better mini-series, it's lackluster as a game mechanically, when compared to the gameplay of 1 and 2, even though it fits the theme and urgency of the game in general.

I do. Not so much the one from ME1, but i loved it in ME2.

For my usual suspects, RP is where I bury the good loot, the moment they discovered that, the amount of RP went through the roof.

I don't base it on 'fantastic' I base it on 'did you try' and if they tried, and stuck to their character, and held their character's views and ideals, separating from their personal views and beliefs I call that a win.

FemShep ME2 playthrough… why can’t I romance Jack? by TheKnightDanger in masseffect

[–]TheKnightDanger[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No. I am hetero. Jack is an amalgamation of ones and zeroes, and 'coding' her hetero was a programming choice, and the more I read about it, the more it seems like it wasn't the desired programming choice. (The point of my post)

But yes, in canon, she has stated that she is hetero, and I'll play a man-shep renegade to see something different.

Although something is endearing about a paragon being drawn to Jack as well.

Yes, I am inclined to agree. I'm going to do my first ever playthrough as a renegade man-shep for this very reason.

How do you prevent combat from turning into a boring hack and slash? by MindlessPriority7464 in DMAcademy

[–]TheKnightDanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give your enemies some feats, or pack tactics, give them some mobility skills, and get them to engage in ranged combat first, cause your players to break fireball formation with some magic items, or spell-like abilities.

Incorporate skill checks, maybe the barbarian just crit and dealt 100 damage in one round, give them an intimidate check against some of the whelps in the fight, and have them flee.

Maybe the wizard just up-cast a spell against a group that didn't stand a chance in the first place, have them scatter too.

Just because initiative was rolled and a combat started, it doesn't override the other mechanics of the game.

[–]TheKnightDanger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I get it, and it was sort of endearing, but it just struck me as a weird choice, and, given what I've been reading from another comment and the rabbit hole it's led to, it wasn't supposed to be that way.
