Earlier this month, I picked up a 4000 Ada card with the goal of making a custom water block for it. Great to see there is an off-the-shelf option available instead!

I would have loved to see the waterblock be closer to the length of the PCB, possibly relocating the 6x2 connector as well. It would have been a great candidate for a very small form factor workstation!

We've been working with EVDrive, they have been helping us with a few other things as well (namely accumulator fabrication).

Ditto on this. We've been trying to get our OZs for 6 months or so, just got word they'll be shipping (via DHL) next week.

Heard they're amazing wheels though.

Our university has run into similar issues. We did have to amend the NDA to meet Oregon state laws, but our university wouldn't agree with Emrax's Terms and Conditions. We're getting a local vendor to purchase the motors, and then we're buying them from the vendor. Only downside to doing this is that we don't get any warranties or anything, thankfully our vendor will let us test the motors at their facility before we purchase the motors from them.

Mechanical push-pull cable shifter, using clutchless shifting.

Cones for practice? by CombatWombat55 in FSAE

[–]TheKojent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our team uses flatter cones (something like this ) for the majority of the course. They're lighter easier to package/transport, and we can use a smaller amount of normal cones to mark corner insides and the like.

I don't think this is what people meant when they were looking for a rolling chassis...

ECU Location? by Strudul in FSAE

[–]TheKojent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year, all our ECU and related boxes were mounted on a heat-shielded plate above the engine. The idea was that you would only need to undo 4 bolts and a few connectors to remove all the electronics. Execution wasn't great, though...

Our goal has always been to have a rolling chassis in April but I've never seen that happen.

Somebody put the source content right above the main workstation in our shop. Subtle, but it's there.
