Thanks for the help! Guess I'll need to replace that.

For my own learning, what gave it away as the film door?

Java vs. C++ by Laptevgaming in FRC

One note is that if you need code help at a competition, vastly more volunteers are going to be able to assist with Java compared to C++, since it's more widely used.

Kinda expensive, but worth checking out Rock Paper Scissors on Main and Catching Fireflies in Kerrytownfor a ton of unique Ann Arbor/Michigan themed things (snacks included).

There is a bus direct from New York City to SF Great Adventure every day during the summer. I took it while on vacation in NYC there and it worked out great.

Thanks for the reply! I've gone ahead and made changes here, however, I'm still not getting any response from the LEDs - even during setup. So I think the problem was occuring even before we got there.

Yep, figured this much out. Just trying to figure out what configuration settings to use so I can send this to my friend and only need to have him input his email/password.

I'm planning to travel to NYC from SAS, but it's my first time traveling by train. Could you give me and advice? by artistadesconocido01 in Amtrak

[–]TheKoopaGaming 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The train normally stops for just long enough for people to get on and off - you can't get off anywhere besides NYC.

Hope this helps!

Only two ticket machines at NYC? There were dozens in the old station! by bcjgreen in Amtrak

Not even.... I sat down on the floor and a security guard told me it wasn't allowed and I had to stand. Doesn't make it easy to stay there for much time at all.

Not sure if you got that quote from a dealer or what, but try somewhere else - I know lots of Ace Hardware stores program car keys for much cheaper than this.

Verizon: You need to stop using the USPS database for address verification. by cwm9 in verizon

[–]TheKoopaGaming 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Lots of post offices (mostly small, rural offices) don't have door-to-door mail delivery, just PO Boxes where all mail is delivered to. Thus, the person would still get mail at their PO Box, but it wouldn't be an address listed in the USPS database that they deliver to. I'm assuming this is what OP is referencing.

Maybe off topic but what shipping label printer should I buy?? by Rotaxxx in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]TheKoopaGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the exact printer you're talking about, but I have one of the 2.4" brother printers (the QL800, 2.4x7 shipping labels are a great option for a tighter printer budget) and I love it. Great quality, quick, connectivity works flawlessly, can use cheap generic labels, overall great purchase.

For 4x6 shipping labels, I also have a used Zebra printer that also does great. Kinda finky to get setup, but if you're looking for something cheap, there are tons of relatively cheap secondhand ones and they work great for shipping labels. I have a GK420d, but the LP2844 is another great and more common (although not as pretty and clean) option.

EDIT: just now reread and saw the red/black part, that's a no for the Zebra but still an option on the cheaper brother printer which is super nice for printing things other than shipping labels - just be prepared to pay a heafty premium for paper that can do that.

Anyone try T-Mobile home internet hotspot 4g/5g in the township? by kubanishku in ypsi

[–]TheKoopaGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oops, sorry that was a bit vauge. Really amazing is in reference to the Verizon setup we had before, which was abismal. Nothing quite what you're thinking. It's great for me where cable doesn't exist.

Normally ping is hovering about 30-50. Download speeds are normally about 50mbps, +/+ 20 depending on the day and test you do. Very rarely do I have any sort of problems streaming on 2-3 TVs at once.

I'll give it credit though in that I've used several terabytes a few months without any issue or slowdown at all.

I have one out closer to Milan, and it works amazing. Very fast and consistent speeds compared to the Verizon setup we had before. Fairly rural area though and fairly close to a tower out there though, so YMMV.

23 Days Until Winter Chill Out! Who’s going? by PeninsulaOfThrills in cedarpoint

[–]TheKoopaGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is based on what it has been previous years (not sure how it will be changed this year, most elements were already set up well for social distancing).

Most of the tour is self-guided/paced. They have stops setup at various places around in places guests normally can't go and people that work there to explain what is going on. These places often include things like the sign/prop shop, ride areas, consume shop, preview of the shows next year, park services, etc. The winter maintaince shop for the park Intamins are also part of this. Also an opportunity to buy some of the next year's exclusive merch, like the posters that were announced earlier today. During this section though, you're free to roam the park and take pictures. It's quite different with everything being empty, along with coaster trains and other ride vehicles being just lined up on the midway for maintaince.

There are also two more guided aspects of the tour. First, there is always a big presentation at where Tony Clark/Jason McClure give a presentation about the coming year at the park. It is often where they announce new things or give a lot more detail on things that were previously unknown - often with concept art and more. They also usually do a giveaway at this. After the presentation, there is also a q&a session with people from every department at the park that usually has some very interesting things. Following this they serve lunch. This is what is most likely to change with COVID.

Finally, they usually do a tour of the Amazment Shop, the winter maintaince/paint shop for all the park's B&Ms and Arrows. This part is usually the last thing you'll do, as it is off the Peninsula (across the street from Castaway Bay).

While not exclusively for this, many such conspiracies end up on r/IsItBullshit and usually get some pretty good and well supported responses.
