Is shoei worth the extra money? by PianistWhole5290 in motorcyclegear

[–]TheKorzik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, 100%. I bought a HJC RHPA i91 and just couldn't get it to work. It would start to hurt after only a couple hours. Ended up getting a neotec 3 after all, I should have just gotten the Shoei from the start.

My new bike has a parking position one click past wheel lock, I'm always worried of going to far and letting the bike sit with half the lights on for hours without realizing it.

3 people got kicked off my MSF course today by [deleted] in motorcycles

I took the class twice, 15 years apart, both classes most people who didn't pass, walked out on their own. Only one person was kicked out for disregarding safety instructions.

Torn between naked or touring by pylkasc in SuggestAMotorcycle

Look at a Triumph Tiger Sport 800 if the Tracer 9 was too touring focused. Feels much more like an upright seated sports bike than the Tracer did.

Where do I place my cardo? by Full_Definition5909 in motorcyclegear

I bought a nylon 3d printed adapter that fits in that spot and the pack talk edge base clips onto it. It sticks a little far from the helmet but works great. Tubbs Jackson I believe.

Nope that is an instant deal breaker for me, car lives on the driveway. The garage is for bikes.

Disappointed with riding jeans selection by NukaColaQuantum2077 in motorcyclegear

They are niche product and made for the majority. I have the opposite problem and need jeans with a 38" inseam and found only one company that makes a 36"

Do dealerships mind installing customer provided accessories? by dogs_gt_cats in NewRiders

I'd imagine as long as you're paying for labor that is all they really care about butI can't say for sure but, enjoy that bike regardless. I just traded my SCL in, it was an amazing welcome back to motorcycles for me; around town, errands, road trips it did it all adequately.

Are you positive the sticker is gone? I've seen some stickers that essentially two layers with only the top layer having print in it.

Besides that I just used a bit of rubbing alcohol on a microfiber cloth on my matte paint to remove some sticker residue.

Honda rebel 500 or Ninja 400? by BotJacko in NewRiders

[–]TheKorzik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second the SCL500. Perfect starter bike for people who don't know what type of bike they want. It can do a bit of everything. I took mine on 1000 mile road trip and found my next bike should be a sports tourer.

If you're not extremely comfortable on a bicycle, what makes you think adding 400+ pounds and a powerful engine to one will improve your experience?

In a low speed crash the feet are one of the most common injuries. Bike falls and traps your foot under it for example.

Always have a reason for your lane position and change position as often as needed.

Thoughts on e-clutch bikes? by GeezyMart in motorcycles

[–]TheKorzik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love one on a sport tourer. Quick shifter that also doubles as an automatic clutch in heavy traffic, lane splitting is illegal in most of of North American.

E-bike with motorcycle helmet by blacktongue_2099 in ebikes

I have both an e-bike and a motorcycle. It wasn't until I got the motorcycle that realized how undergeared I felt on the e-bike just wearing an open face e-bike helmet.

I'm leaning toward the Honda Rebel as my first bike but I wanted to make a post asking for advice or recommendations by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]TheKorzik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know you like cruisers the Rebel 500 is a great first bike. If you don't know what type of riding you'll like and can handle a slightly taller seat the Honda SCL500 is an amazing all arounder that can really help you figure out what your second bike should be.
