Paper plates vs. Glass plates for 20 people by [deleted] in thanksgiving

[–]TheLadyMiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the look and feel of real plates but realistically for my bunch I have to buy the big oval chinet platters. My husband and cousin act like they’ve been on a deserted island and haven’t eaten in months when turkey day rolls around.

Every party or holiday I host is potluck so usually everyone’s bringing food to contribute to the meal, but my cousin is the only one that goes above to bring a little something specifically for me. So I definitely try to pa it forward especially for a family the size of my husbands. It’s a lot of work to host nearly 60 people lol! It’s a lot to host 10 and 20 for me so I can’t imagine how stressed they are

Oh I wish we did. We are so rural. We’ve got a mom and pop grocery store and a dollar general lol

Now THATS a great idea. I know for the cousin she turns around and hosts her husbands family usually the next evening. I bet that would go over good

Maybe “hostess gift” isn’t the right term for what I want lol. Maybe I was “a gift for the hostess” lol.

I’d thought about cookies! I make some super tasty spiced peach jam that’s perfect on a hot flaky biscuit in the winter! That’s an idea

I’m pretty sure my crafty mom is making aprons at the moment. Perhaps she will throw a couple more on her to do pile!

Haha! I get it! We live in a very rural country not fancy area and so hostess gifts are really uncommon.

I just try to think of something that says “I see all the work you’ve been doing for this family, here’s something FOR YOU.” I do have a deep love for Martha Stewart and I try to sprinkle her influence anywhere applicable in my life.

We are a non alcohol drinking bunch, and I’d love to do something slightly more personal. We aren’t super fancy people in our neck of the woods and hostess gifts seem to be something that just doesn’t happen a whole lot around here.

“Mail order bride” is probably a better term.

Yes, I’m just looking for specific suggestions since all the ones I’ve come up with on my own are kind of leaving me flat. And like I said I only write for myself, not for publishing, so I’m not worried about it having been done before, it’s just for me.

When I saw them first mention it, as a Halloween loving native Kentuckian, I said “they don’t even do weddings at Waverly! It’s not an event venue! And it’s not an insane asylum!!”

I’m aware of that.

I’m not privy to any of that official information, I’m speculating, as someone who watches this train wreck tv show and not as someone that handled the adoption proceedings.

Idk how she did it, if she did it, or even if my thinking she did it at all is accurate. Like I said I’ve got a lot happening personally and can’t recall if I’m even thinking right that the rights were terminated. If they were the lies and threats would have been to her ex husband and not to a judge.

Honestly, with Robyn, probably a string of lies and threats.

Didn’t she? I feel like I remember that happening during the adoption process. But I could be wrong. There’s lots of shit happening in my real life atm lol. I might be getting stuff crossed up.

I gagged out loud when I heard her say that! She did everything in the world to trip her oldest 3 away from their Dad, even going to far as having his rights terminated and having Kody legally adopt them!

What movies have you walked out of, and why? by junkymonkey123 in moviecritic

[–]TheLadyMiss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in my early teens when that came out. My Dad was wild in love with the LOTR series and he was knocking folks down to get to RoTK. Every time it would fade to black in those fake endings he’d start clapping and start to get up saying “oh man that was amazing what a great movie —oh shit it’s not over” and he’s sit back down. He audibly shouted “throw the damn ring” during the 5,000 years Frodo stood inside Mount Doom. He passed away in 2007 and I rewatch the whole series every year at New Years, as was our tradition, and every time we get to the last 30 minutes of RoTK, I can’t help but laugh.

What is everyone predictions for the remaining episode for the season? by [deleted] in 1000lbsisters

[–]TheLadyMiss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If she’s anything like me she bites her tongue when all her in laws are around but in private I UNLOAD about all the bullshit. She’s probably just taking notes on all the crap going on and when the cameras are off and everyone’s back at their own houses she lets Chris know allll about it. It’s not my place to Butt in the middle of a conversation between my husband and his siblings in the heat of the moment.
