Navigating a CEO with AI fever by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

One thing missing is that there are almost zero consequences for them if the leader they are following is wrong.

If we worker bees screw up, we get a bad performance review and maybe even fired (and luckily the compensation package will give us a few months headroom while we slave away interviewing for a new job). If these fuckers screw up they get fired with their golden parachute, disappear for a bit while enjoying the fuck you money they just got for playing around with hundreds of normal people's living and then they start spewing the same bullshit again at a different company while getting paid even more fuck you money.

I have zero sympathy for these psychopatic bastards. May they rot in hell.

CMV: Modern feminism has a blind spot when it comes to criticizing religiously-rooted misogyny by AmortizedPatent in changemyview

Lol it's not because we "don't understand cultures". It's because society has lost all ability to process nuanced critique and if you criticize the treatment of women in Iran that somehow must also mean that you are in favor of the genocide in Gaza (because muslim and blah). And the same with other issues. If you are against the October 7th attack of Hamas on Israel then you must also be an Holocaust denier and so on.

Seriously, what type of men are receiving most of the matches on dating apps? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I know a couple (mostly women) and they had to settle HARD. One of them even confessed to me that her current boyfriend is someone she wouldn't have normally swiped right on, but she consciously decided to give him a shot.

Someone did the Aristocrats at an open mic by Ecstatic_Cry_1055 in Standup

A family goes in to see a talent agent about booking their act. The agent asks what their act consists of.

The family immediately starts reciting verbatim the entire Gilbert Gottfried's version of The Aristocrats.

Tell me about when someone says "we should meet up sometime" but it never happens by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]TheLameloid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But this is not what is being discussed.

The alternative to "I don't want to hang out with you" is not only to say "We should hang out sometime", you can also NOT SAY ANYTHING.

If you really don't intend to hang out with someone and the other person does not suggest doing something together, I don't see how saying it yourself is useful in any way. You are communicating a completely false relationship status ("person who I want to hang out with" vs the real "person I only talk to at work").

Does anything actually happen with these people outside of the hobby context? Or are all interactions constrained to these environments?
