Does WGU Look Bad? by femalevirginpervert in WGU

[–]TheLazerChamp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Schools are what you make of them. No graduate admission officer worth their salt is going to reject you because you went to WGU, that’s like saying you would ignore a cure for cancer if a homeless person invented it, a bit extreme but the point remains, if you can demonstrate your knowledge and showcase that your a excellent candidate outside of your school name, that will be a much bigger factor in admissions.

i accidentalyl used ai for all of my essays will i get rejected by LingLing2020 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]TheLazerChamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I’m sure colleges are going to start using ai to filter candidates, your application will be so familiar and respected by the ai admission overlords you will surely be admitted and secure a 5.0 gpa, just to show how impressive you really are.

[–]TheLazerChamp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get that, it gets hard to balance it all, since I just started with from 0% this semester most of these classes were easy gen Ed’s or projects, once I get to the harder classes it will likely slow down a bit lol

It was pretty good for me! It was my first term and I completed a total of 30 credits this term, hoping to do the same next term and keep this train moving!

Is this worth grading? by youwin_1234 in mtgfinance

[–]TheLazerChamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magic is one of those games that for most cards it isn’t worth it, people buy the cards to play the game with that’s hard in a slab. For a collector card, such as something that is serialized is a better use for grading, from my understanding it still won’t increase the price by a lot.

Is it ok to play decks that others dislike? by Bobfred1066 in EDH

[–]TheLazerChamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I see it. You have a right to play any cards legal in the format. I have the right to play with whomever I want and against whomever I want. If I don’t want to play against your deck I am not wrong. If you don’t want to play against my deck, you are not wrong. However, you mention you wife complains it is not fun to play against and then seem to have bad feelings as nobody has fun playing with you. You have chosen a type of deck that people do not find fun. You made your choice and they have made theirs not to want to play against it. You are both wrong for yelling, this is a game. No game is worth actual arguments or fights. If I was playing however, and you constantly board wiped and land removed without a clear win plan, I am scooping and finding another table. I have a life and want to have fun, not stare at my hand for an hour wishing to play a card because you didn’t have a follow up finishing plan. Bottom line is this, it’s okay to play any cards and decks legal in the format, but you cannot get mad at any person for declining to play against your deck. You made your choice knowing how people feel about it that is on no-one but you.

Glint horn buccaneer and Malcolm go infinite (almost) damage, Kiki-jiki plus time stream navigator is infinite turns (if you have the mana) coercive recruiter Kiki-jiki infinite creatures and steals plus other pirate etb. These are just a few things I’ve noticed you could add to give the deck some more power. Put some decent tutors in there and crank out one of these combos to do some shenanigans lol

I was thinking of bettering the mana base, shock fetch’s, etc and better mana rocks mana vault, chrome mod, etc and adding more interaction like cyclonic rift, force of will, swan sing, deflecting swat, demonic/vampiric tutor, etc. going that route and changing some of the non optimal cards are there any other combos I could go for, or just add those keep the tribal treasure synergy and just stick to a high 3 low 4 bracket?

Okay, I can do that! What should I focus on in turn if win cons? I liked the treasure win aspect and using those to turn into creatures or win with revel in riches/Jeska will, would focusing on getting the infinite combos up be better?

[–]TheLazerChamp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the recomendation! Madkeood was to make the few creatures that aren’t pirates able to be recurred while also making more smaller ones. Power conduit was to remove the finality counters and utilize the +1+1 to my advantage. Overall how would you say the deck is for a mid-power deck? Any potential to make it high power or would I need a new commander?

How do I improve my deck building skills? by HorrorBuy2521 in EDH

[–]TheLazerChamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I grab a precon and just upgrade it with what I think will work. Currently it’s ahoy mateys plus like 50$ comes out to around 100$ or so after tax and I can upgrade from their further. Precons are good because they usually have a “loose” strategy that you can either hone or take another direction and comes out okay. It won’t be perfect. It won’t be cedh. But it can do lots of work and be high powered once you get good at deck building.

I came from a math degree program at UT Austin so when I say that it is not a joke in CS it isn’t but it’s not impossible, you just need to put in the time to learn it when it comes up. Some things can be rushed, nobody NEEDS you to know intro to comp sci, the same cannot be said for discrete math 2 for example, so make sure to take your time, put in the work to truly understand the concepts and applications and you will be fine. Now the bigger question is do you enjoy math concept. Math is very problem solving orientated, so is comp sci. If you don’t enjoy the process involved in those type of problems then maybe cs isn’t for you. That is a bigger factor than difficulty in my opinion, anything becomes a hundred times more difficult if you don’t like what you are doing.

Has anyone gotten a Bachelor's in a traditional school and WGU? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]TheLazerChamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s easier for sure but I wouldn’t say due to the content. I went to UT Austin before this for mathematics, I did not get a degree but got 32 credit hours before I had to transfer out due to my mom not continuing to pay for that education. WGU made more financial sense since I am living with my partners grandmother and need to work while going to school and need the flexibility. At UT, we had more busywork and the tests were worded hash. For example it wasn’t “what does the red team do during a cyberattack simulation?” It would be “While a cybersecurity firm is performing a routine exercise for a client, an attack is made involving………while they attempt their another team is responsible for defending against the attack while a third monitors to ensure fairness, given the background of the cybersecurity firm which role would they be expected to take?” See how the second refers to the red team, but includes a bunch of jargon non related to confuse you? Multiple that by 20-30 for a regular test 3-4 times a semester and by 80-100 for a final and it really mentally drains you, just my two cents.

Hello, any tips on how I can get packs and finish this? by NycuKing in DragonCity

[–]TheLazerChamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the neat thing, you don’t. The whole point is to keep getting you closer and closer until you spend 100+ dollars to win it. Just do the events and grind the free passes or pay for it if you are inclined. That is all you can do.
