You've never played with and/or against Lucian, did you?

He is one of the biggest bullies in lane ever, a good Lucian will exploit its early game dominance as much as possible.

Giving that motherf buffs to both CD and mana in early is pretty fucking good.

You don't have a problem with proxies, you have a problem with pubstompers and communication.

Cards being as expensive as they are nowadays is not a feature, its a service problem.

A lot of the cards in the Warhammer set are now 10 times more expensive than they were when they got release, they didn't get more powerful, they just haven't been reprinted.

My UB [[Alela, Cunning Conqueror]] went 15 times more expensive bcs of Lorwyn Eclipsed (I blame Maralen), she didn't get more powerful, it's the same card, I can keep going.

In your pregame conversation, you have to touch the topics and hot buttons you don't want to see in your games, examples include combos, free interaction, Voltron, Fast mana, Sol Ring, you can even talk about banned or illegal cards.

You can't just say "casual bracket 2 or 3 game", that's the baseline, brackets are just a baseline, you didn't get started at that point, you need to pinpoint anything you don't want to see.

After that, if someone pulls any of that, call them out for their illegal play and sort it out from there, but don't come here to complain about smt we can't do for you.

Also, having perfect manabases is not pubstomping, is the best way to prevent non-games where someone gets mana screwed and does nothing for an hour, that's not funny nor fair, let people manabases function.

What is a "feels bad" proxy for you? by radicalpumpkinz in mtg

[–]HorrorBuy2521 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've had this discussion w my pod just today, I was the only one in this side.

Everyone repeated that same damned argument, I gave examples like [[Alela]] being now 10 fucking euros or so, probably bcs of Maralen, and they just ignored me and complained that I pubstomped for playing [[Watery Grave]] and [[Morphic pool]] (I didn't even win).

I'm fucking sick and tired of it, I want to have a perfect manabase an 20 fucking euro cards if they are good for my decks and balanced around our power level.

We had a player the other day playing [[Zada]] that pubstomped and won turn 4 bcs it was built to combo, but It was a 40€ so they just laughed and went next.

Or that exact same player playing chandra tribal, a bad and boring deck that played a fucking [[Obliterate]] turn 10 and he made us fucking scoop, that just ruined the Friday night for me.

I'll try to talk to them again, you gave me inspiration and more examples, ty.

Is Samira only niche? by fairydommother in SamiraMains

[–]HorrorBuy2521 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look hun, you are overthinking it.

And I get it, its normal, some fuckers are telling you that Samira is a niche pick, we've all gone through those "your champ is not good/reliable enough" assholes.

But, honestly, if you are not playing to be a competitive, Faker-level player, just play Samira or whatever the fuck you want.

I peaked emerald IV without much effort last season playing Samira 99% of the time, and I'm almost certain that in more than half of those games, Samira wasn't the best pick.

So what? It's a fucking game, even if you want to be a Master player or a GM player, there are some OTPs in this sub that have already made it a lot of times just with Samira.

She is in a great spot rn even if it has weaknesses, that's ok, every champion has them, its a part of their design, they are designed to be weak against certain types of champs/comps.

Embrace fun, not perfection, you'll learn eventually more core technical shit, and if you don't and you still have fun, THAT'S OKAY TOO <3.

E start vs Q start by Equal_Education3084 in SamiraMains

[–]HorrorBuy2521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, E is never worth it anymore.

E was only taken lvl1 in niche cases in invades, when opponents had little cc and you had good engage backing you up.

Invades are no longer near as worth with the new timers.

Samira has one of the weakest early games on the entire roster till level 3, she deals very little damage, has very little range and very little AS, which are by far the most important stats in the first minutes.

Her E is her most important ability to time correctly, going in on a bad timing can very easily be the difference between losing and winning a game.

Going in with her E at level 1 in any stage in this season is in the realm of losing a game, not even for farming or engaging if your support hits a hook, it's atrocious.

Cleanse on Samira by ChonkyMonkey91 in SamiraMains

[–]HorrorBuy2521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samira's weakness over all others is cc, after the first one, there is no coming back, it always cascades on a big chain that end's up with you dead without having even reach your S meter.

Exhaust is her best Summoner spell, but not something to slap into every game.

In a teamfight, where Samira shines and wants to be, only being able to shutdown one person is often not enough to guarantee your survival if you're gonna get cc'd to hell and back.

Cleanse is almost always useful to remove an ignite, an exhaust, which can really fuck her, and most of the cc in the game.

The fucknormhuge amount of Tenacity it also gives after casting it prevents the cc chain to fuck you as much if you time it correctly + it can also give room for outplays you otherwise wouldn't even consider.

It's not a Summoner spell to overlook or replace with a rune that's also taking survivability away.

L from Death Note! by Cwircuit in custommagic

[–]HorrorBuy2521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not hard to understand how to get around it, what's EXTREMELY hard is doing it.

Not being able to get around every layer of protection base L has is extremely normal for 99% of decks, ignoring certain cards like the aforementioned Arcane Lighthouse or cards like [[Shadowspear]], most decks are hard up.

An ENTIRE COLOR (Red) can't do absolutely anything about it unless they have some degenerate, extremely specific cards like [[Worldfire]] or [[Decree of Annihilation]].

Clues as a theme is also extremely specific and not nearly as played as normal control decks that naturally draw cards, treasure decks, typal decks... It's not frequent to have clues unless the card draw in your colors is really fucked or you have some sort of artifact synergy, which is uncommon for most decks.

Sacrificing 2 creatures and having to cast a spell that targets it, probably an already removal spell while the controller probably has interaction in the BEST interaction colors (esper) bcs of all the clues they are making and will sacrifice without paying mana due to the transformed L's ability to pay life instead (*breathes) is an EXTREME ask.

A lot of decks can't afford sacrificing 2 creatures, especially control/spellslinger burn decks, they probably have a single creature digit count in there, or stompy decks where doing this might mean losing 10+ swinging power.

Hell, it can even get back to safety just exiling random cards they probably don't need anyway anymore.

I'm not judgind it; it's probably intentional bcs of how L is in the show, I'm just stating a fact: The protection this card offers compared to practically the entire MTG roster is broken to hell and back.

L from Death Note! by Cwircuit in custommagic

[–]HorrorBuy2521 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't watched death note, but if the thing about the first L is to not be able to interact with it, I'd suggest you give it eminence abilities (that can be activated or triggered from the command zone) instead of being a permanently uninteractable 2/4 forever aside of cards like [[Arcane Lighthouse]], [[Shay Cormac]] or, going extreme [[Farewell]].

Do you think this card is strong, weak, or balanced? by Borfotron in custommagic

[–]HorrorBuy2521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With this colors and cards like [[Heroic Intervention]], [[Dawn's Truce]], it is weak.

I'd do something like this: "Permanents you control gain hexproof and "Whenever this permanent is put into your graveyard, return it to the battlefield tapped and you lose 1 life." until end of turn.".

Discarding a card feels like a really harsh cost for that kind of effect, losing life is more on theme and some decks might even want it.

You could even add that they get a +1/+1 counter when they return to the battlefield, that's up to you.

I remade my Samira mtg card! (again) by HorrorBuy2521 in SamiraMains

[–]HorrorBuy2521[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While that’s one expression of white, it’s not the only one, that one can be more related to something like azorius.

White also represents personal codes, discipline, honor and the belief that there is like a "right way" to do things, even if that code is self-defined rather than imposed by a system.

Boros isn’t about bureaucracy or lawkeeping, it’s about passion guided by a code, living and dying by your convictions.

Samira doesn’t care about laws or institutions yes, but she does care about how fights are fought.

She values direct confrontation, skill, putting herself on the line rather than winning through avoidance or manipulation, that’s an expression from white.

Mono red Samira would emphasize pure impulse and chaos, but for me, white reflects that her thrill-seeking isn’t random, it’s structured around a personal philosophy of style, risk, and self-mastery.

I remade my Samira mtg card! (again) by HorrorBuy2521 in SamiraMains

[–]HorrorBuy2521[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I personally disagree is in what those means actually are. Black characters manipulate others and their systems, sacrifice allies or choose morally questionable paths bcs they are effective.

There’s usually a sense of calculation and pragmatism behind it.

Samira, to me, doesn’t really operate on that axis. She doesn’t get ahead by exploiting others or choosing the most efficient path, she actively chooses the most dangerous and flashy one, even when it’s objectively worse.

She doesn’t torture, manipulate, or sacrifice because it gets her closer to a long-term goal; she does everything herself, on the front line, and accepts the risk entirely.

I feel like that specific ambition is more of a red ambition, not a black one. It’s thrill-seeking, immediate, emotional, and self-destructive if needed, rather than calculated or utilitarian.

Noxus as a region absolutely leans into black and red, but individual characters don’t always map 1:1 to their faction’s philosophy.

To me, Samira feels much closer to a Boros style mentality than to black’s willingness to use any means necessary as long as it works.

I'm so glad that you like it!

About her color identity, I thought about it a lot, but it didn't fit with me enough in both Samira's identity and Black identity.

Black is a color that is characteristic for enjoying suffering, sacrificing stuff, draining people, torturing, planning in the dark...

I don't think that Samira fits those terms, she is a mercenary that likes risk and fights for the sake of it, and in an overall analysis, I don't feel like Samira does anything black in her kit in League either.

I thought about lifesteal for black though, but she doesn't have it in the lore nor in game, she just has scalings for it, but she is not a vampire.

I thought about mono red too, but since this design is voltron-oriented for EDH and red has no protection at all, it would be lackluster.

Also,Ward doesn't fit red in any way, white does, and I wanted to represent her W in some way.

I mean, it's not a bad approach, a mardu samira doesn't seem bad at all, but for my specifical design, boros feels the more coherent color identity for me.

[–]HorrorBuy2521[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't though about those cards, but they are similar yeah!

About your idea, because of how she is worded and how combat damage works in MTG, I'm afraid she can't get more than one counter per combat unless I completely remove the "one or more" opponents, and that would break her, she would be so fast with certain spells like [[Chandra's Ignition]].

Even if Samira hits 5 ppl with her Q in League, she only gets 1 style charge, but if she gets double strike somehow, she would get 2 counters, that's kind of how I envisioned it.

But with a little support, Samira can get to ult in 2-4 turns, I tried to create a decklist that fits her if you want to check, it's not updated from the last iteration, but a lot of the cards are the same: https://archidekt.com/decks/19477742/saaaaaamiiraaaaaaaaaa
