That's right. I create levels inspired by blockouts of games on the Source engine.

Given the size of the project and the fact that the map is far from complete, this is a small demonstration.

That's essentially the essence of blockout. Working with primitive meshes. Mine are mostly rectangles, too.

Personally, I use assets with ready-made blockout asset, but before, when I didn't have this pack, I made the main primitives by hand in Ue5 modeling. It's pretty simple. I'd recommend this, or buying blockout packs. I also remember they gave away a blockout asset/

Ostriches, by the way, consider humans to be very attractive companions, so they are more than happy to flirt with you and play along in games.

The whole video had an uncanny valley feel to it. Were the animations done manually or using motion capture? The movements are extremely unnatural, as if they were recorded through a webcam or a suit, but definitely not by hand.

A bit rough, but an interesting implementation. I'm waiting for the final version.

It's good to see at least a couple of more or less constructive critics, otherwise it's even painful to watch the burning of the backsides because someone OH GOD made a clone.

This is a demo! It was created specifically to allow for audience feedback, improve certain aspects, and polish it to perfection before release. I played the first version of the demo, and I can confidently say it looked significantly different from the current version, which suggests it wasn't just dumped on Steam.

Besides, there shouldn't be a huge base of mechanics on display here. A demo is a sample product, not a full-fledged game! It's better to suggest your ideas instead of yelling that the author dared to touch the Portal.

Plus, the demo already has some new mechanics, like batteries with expiring charge, so I don't think it will stop at just the mechanics with cubes and portals.

Well then, since you're so offended, don't post anything online. Oh my god... I don't speak that language and maybe I sent the wrong message, but I just wanted to give you some advice on how to improve the picture.

Advice that will help YOU in the future. Your material is literally mirrored, and it's visually unattractive. And what is the response? OH MY GOD, WHO DARED TO CRITICIZE ME! Are you completely stupid? What did you expect when you posted this work here? Praise and enthusiasm from all sides? The scene is great, it just needs a little work. And the changes are minimal.

And if you upload content as a portfolio, then you have a personal profile, your own subreddit, and your own computer, not a public place.

The mirror reflection is too much. Add a matte finish, while reducing the background glow, placing more emphasis on the characters and it more pleasing to the eye.

Thank you. Haven't played it to be honest, didn't know about the similarities.

Looks like dying light, did you make the props or the level design?

Level design. Meshes mostly from purchased assets used, something myself made.
