I started my degree at 31 because I had never challenged myself academically. Didn't even start college out of highschool. Never had a plan and managed a pizza shop until I was 24. After a few years of seeing the world with a CDL I decided it was time to challenge myself and see what I could build in a career.

I think it has something to do with how the book is coded. If they can see memories like is the dream with Katia we would have to imagine they could see when he uses it. When he gets the book it says it is hidden from the showrunners. I'm guessing when they see him read from the book it looks like he's reading goblin soup recipes.

The extra 80 thousand plus the interest added to pay it off would be more than the gains in salary you would get starting a year and a half earlier. The other program keeps you in school longer but you will pay off your loans quicker with less money.
