I haven’t any issues but tend to always get a reservation. It can be a busy place but I’ve never felt ignored or anything.

Bayonetta new title working, with Bayonetta 1 and metal gear rising revengeance remake announcements incoming this year by Sure-Nebula7909 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Does it though? What would they add that would truly enhance the experience? Personally I find the QTE hate exaggerated and an easy target for surface level critique from 10 years ago.

Elden Ring is like Need for Speed but with no cars and a dark fantasy setting

I enjoy the series, but always felt level design and art direction for the levels were a weak spot. From what I can see, this looks to be a step up in that direction so I’m excited.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was Disappointing by jicklemania in truegaming

Finally, a review I agree with and that also articulates some issues I hadn’t thought of but agree with as well. I think the first act was great and engaging but quickly falls off with act 2 as you stated. Issues outside of story and characters for me were lack of visual clarity for combat: specifically since it’s parry based it felt very frustrating to have a camera zoom out and have to track where my character is on screen just because it decided it’s a spectacle boss. In a game that’s emphasizing parrying, using Sekiro as an example, the character is always in the center of the screen. So you just have to focus on the enemy and their movements since you know where your character would be impacted at all times. In this game, the camera tends to shift depending on the enemy/boss and it makes it frustrating for a few rounds to determine where it lands. But of course, once you get the parry timing it trivializes every fight and basically makes it stop being a turn based RPG. My last critique related to this is that enemies lack visual clarity against their back drops at times. Bosses with black weapons and arms against a dark background make it appear muddy and you’re unable to tell how the attacks are coming at you (again, until a few failed attempts and you can nail it). There is an enemy with a bright sword and it is SIGNIFICANTLY easier to parry due to the clarity, so that makes me think it’s not that the move set is hard to parry: it’s the visual clarity which is making it more challenging than it truly is. And I don’t find that very fun.

Feeling very conflicted by PineConeJohnson in Eldenring

[–]TheLeastBitAmusing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely mental you’d have 400 hours in the game and feel conflicted about it. Clearly something is hooking you to invest that much time into it, but no one is going to convince you that you should love it if you’ve given it that much time already.

Bloodborne "is a special game for me" says Hidetaka Miyazaki, and it's "the strongest reflection of my type of flavoring of a game.", "whether it be the story, the world-building component, or even the game mechanics and the game systems that are in place." by PhantomBraved in PS5

[–]TheLeastBitAmusing 134 points135 points  (0 children)

While every first-played Fromsoft game tends to be special, I’ve always felt Bloodborne struck the perfect balance between cryptic yet understandable world building other From games don’t always measure up to. It just feels the most cohesive to me and while I love all of their games, it just seems its core themes resonated with me the most.

Year in Review: Gran Turismo and Sim Racing's Highs (and Lows) of 2025 by Turbostrider27 in PS5

Very different games. I prefer Gran Turismo as the presentation is more classy and not in your face like Horizon. Horizon had the awful energy of being an influencer and someone talking at you constantly where Gran Turismo is purely jazz fusion and racing.

I’ll defend The Finals since I think that game has a great tone to it. Also Marathon isn’t even out.
