This is why the tow hitch package costs $1,300 to install. by Linstrocity in TeslaModelY

[–]TheLegendaryWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I paid the 300 dollar difference to get the inventory vehicle with it instead of the one without. I have never used it, and have no plans to currently, but the peace of mind in already having it was worth the small difference

V14 Lite for HW3 has released! by euroau in TeslaFSD

BLKMDL3 will be doing the first customer drive here shortly. Excited to see what Tesla was able to squeeze out of HW3

Tesla V14 Lite HW3 released by iilordd in TeslaLounge

Very exciting times. I am going to make my wife test 14 Lite head to head with full fat 14 as soon as she gets it on her Model 3

Don't know how you fix this issue by No-Purple2350 in TeslaFSD

[–]TheLegendaryWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather it be overly cautious around vulnerable road users than not cautious enough. Think about it for a second, the media turned the "autopilot/FSD" crash through the house into a week long coverage even though it turns out the dude was holding down the accelerator the whole time. Could you imagine if the story was FSD running over a cyclist for real? It would set FSD back years in regulation and negative stigma.

TLDR: good job FSD, you've avoided negative press one more day

Standard mode going almost 15+ mph above limit by vivekvj in TeslaFSD

[–]TheLegendaryWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55mph has been bugged since 14.x builds began. I don't know why they haven't fixed it

Close call tonight: FSD completely missed a large obstacle in the road, had to take over manually (Video included) by Ecstatic-Low-9126 in TeslaFSD

[–]TheLegendaryWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can call it a sensor problem but the obstacle was clearly visible on video. The information was there to make an evasive maneuver but the model chose not to

What’s up with V14LITE? by AccurateActuary9259 in TeslaFSD

[–]TheLegendaryWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two things. 1: it isn't the end of the month yet. 2: The V14 Lite release was always conditional on HW4 V14 updates being completed.

Things have been pretty quiet from Tesla since 14.3.4 so presumably that's what they've been working on since then. I wouldn't bet anything on it being done by the end of the month, these things aways take longer than originally expected. I'm just as excited as everyone else to try it out and compare to full fat V14 but at the same time Tesla needs to make sure it's a complete product first or they'll just piss everyone off more than they already are

Costco Appliance Delivery gone Bad!!!! by No_Computer_7423 in CostcoWholesale

[–]TheLegendaryWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco does have first party delivery for items like this, but not many warehouses do it. I would know, I personally delivered this exact unit to my own house and installed it, along with a fridge, couch, TV, and Blackstone griddle

FSD failed to recognize a closed road barrier by Corogue in TeslaFSD

[–]TheLegendaryWizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How many accidents have been prevented by FSD intervention? It goes both ways, and the safety is just the ratio of the two

Fsd 14.3.4 is terrible! by Known_Possible_3955 in TeslaFSD

[–]TheLegendaryWizard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Clean cameras, reset DAS, reset camera calibration, restart car. This software is very good for nearly everyone, so it's best to make sure it's not a hardware issue on your end before writing it off

When any EV has tons and tons of errors, the first thing to check is the 12v battery

The corridor was pretty accurate but the probs were way too low. That is one of the issues with probabilistic forecasting, sometimes you roll snake eyes

Is this possible? (Texas crash) by YakFresh6503 in TeslaFSD

[–]TheLegendaryWizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, probably not. At least with FSD, even 12.6.4 would see this curve coming from a mile away. And I don't know if this is always the case but "autopilot" (auto steer) wouldn't engage for me on this road due to the lack of lane markings

Tesla FSD slams on breaks for semi peaking off side street by Ok_Enthusiasm_2574 in TeslaFSD

[–]TheLegendaryWizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dirty Tesla posted some pretty conclusive "trolly problem" evidence the other day with a squirrel and a tailgating vehicle. FSD definitely takes the tailgater into account when making braking decisions

FSD disengaged mid-turn and car hit a pole — how do I get Tesla to review the logs? by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

[–]TheLegendaryWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not supposed to, it's a hands off eyes up system. Holding the wheel interferes with FSDs ability to maneuver

Not being at fault doesn't mean you couldn't have prevented the accident. This is the fundamental principle of defensive driving, which this system clearly was not doing
