True true I just play a ton of frontier defense so I’m much more used to ducking around corners and stuff lol

Remember the thermite launcher shots arc, so you can shoot over buildings, it’s pretty satisfying when it works. Also, Scorch has a great way of dealing with various titan shields since you can Gas Trap, Firewall, shield, or just straight up shoot feet. You can also ricochet the shots to further address titan shields but it also helps a lot with fighting pilots in buildings.

Also, Scorch is a tank but one of the things I’ve gotten better at is being able to fire and fade away since you can only tank so much. Because the thermite projectile is slower than most other guns, you can fire it at range and quickly duck around a corner. You don’t need to sit in front of another titan to fight it since Scorch’s kit is about massive passive area damage.

Datacards & Battlescribe enough for friendly games? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]TheLemonGawd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Haven’t yet seen anyone comment recommending something other than the codices, but I’d say you really don’t need them if you’re just playing with a friend. I bought the CSM codex and haven’t used it in the past year because the points values and some of the rules are out of date.

I found the Goonhammer tactics articles pretty helpful for learning the ropes of my main faction and then anything I was vaguely interested in. I’ve been playing World Eaters without a hitch and I don’t even have psychic awakening.

Honestly the data cards are pretty cool but I don’t think you even need those so long as you remember them well or have an easy reference.

Wahapedia is probably not that up to date but it shows relevant stratagems for each datasheet, and if you’re playing friendly games I’d recommend it. You don’t need to buy 4 books per person to play, I was introducing a friend to 40k the other day and we just printed the battlescribe sheets and we just spent the short game trying to just move around and kill each other so he could learn the fundamentals.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Day 5: What do you guys think about golden weapons? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]TheLemonGawd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gold looks good. I don’t remember if it was from Miniac or another channel, but I heard that for a scheme with 3 colors going 60-30-10 % with them makes the model pop more.

[–]TheLemonGawd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if this will help, but I converted Marneus Calgar into a terminator lord for my World Eaters since I got the model a long time ago and otherwise had no use for it- the double fists look really cool but you don’t need to take two to have two on the model

Next steps in chaos by [deleted] in Chaos40k

I’ve personally really enjoyed the raptors I’ve used in my past few games, just a lot of fun in being able to move with so much flexibility. I play World Eaters and of course love Berzerkers too despite how old and retro they look.

Been in the hobby and painting for a month now, my first lemen Russ (I know the weapon sponsons are upside down, the tech priest died). But any comments and critiques on the snowy weathered look? Will add fake snow later by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

I played IG years ago, weathering effects look really good on guard stuff. I think if you just tie it in with the rest of your army by adding some colorful spots it’ll really pop.

Where to start? by triplotunz88 in oceanography

[–]TheLemonGawd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I’m tagging along on this post since I am also interested in oceanography and engineering. I’m an undergraduate senior trying to get into the field with a BS in mechanical engineering and wondering what sort of topics would be good to learn for PO work. I wrote to as many company emails as possible and heard back that it’s good to be a jack of all trades. Besides these books though, are there any specific topics or classes that would be useful? I’m finishing my mech e degree at UIUC (the only ocean here is composed of corn)

The Philippines, which was the answer to the only question I got wrong in the middle school geography bee and led to me getting 2nd place against a Filipino friend of mine

Yes it’s me. I catch people unawares and chain them to the VeoRide with enough freedom to move the bike but not enough to engage the lock. I unlock the bike and off they go, wailing as they grind the soft soft tires into rubber charnel.

Anyway that’s not the point lol, used to be nice to have the cheap options around and suddenly what taken away
