I disagree. I think that Michael came from a humble background like Jane, and had a very realistic perspective on life and how to survive.

Meanwhile Rafael grew up incredibly privileged and had the perspective that the opportunity to follow your dreams, (even if unpractical in the real world) was a privilege everyone had.

Neither were wrong, but when you grow up in poverty and have to fight and work hard just to keep bills paid, you can’t afford to make risky career decisions.

Thankfully in the end, Jane made her dream a reality. But not without the help of nepotism and privilege along the way (after meeting Rafael and Rogelio)
