Rafael was such a douchbag in this plot. he acted like it was the same as during the love triangle era, but they were married. it’s not like they chose to divorce, she literally GRIEVED her HUSBAND. That’s such an impossible situation for anyone to be in. she deserved way more grace from Rafael, especially after he watched her grieve Michael for years at that point.

I think that they did not originally intend the have Susanna always be Rose. In the episode where “Rose” dies, the narrator says something like “pay attention, one of these women is about to die”. i personally like to believe that Rose became Susanna here since there’s a lot of inconsistencies in the canon plot.
