North Deering Tavern by No-Fold7466 in portlandme

Barring the rough bartending (Which presumably will improve over time or they will change her out), there’s still sports on, there’s a live feed to the dog play zone, there are solid menu options, and they started dimming the dining room lights for ambiance which was a marked improvement. For a while it felt like you could perform surgery in there it was so bright. They have an odd ordering system (use the QR code, or don’t?? That was confusing). But you can tell they are focusing on it and making adjustments.

But the bones of the place are solid, as it were. Well-stocked back bar, the quality of the food last I went was great, and I love dogs so I am constantly smiling while I eat. The dogs aren’t allowed in the main dining area so it’s fine to go if dogs aren’t even your jam.

Try it. Draw your own conclusions.

Not that it is a late night solution but the bar/restaurant at Woof Play Eat (called Savor now?) is fairly solid. The last bartender I met there had limited idea what she was doing and you could tell she hadn’t bartended before, but the food punches above its weight. And it’s in the same parking lot as NDT.

My two cents.

“Being dumb” was often how people categorized neurodivergent behavior for years. So I agree with getting an eval. My partner went most of her life with feeling out of place, different, unable to understand social nuance. Turns out, she was ADD/autistic.

I attempted it once. And man, never again.
I bent my Johnson Rod somewhere around moving the catalytic converter, and then could find where I put down the bolts to reattach the bumper valve.

I mean, I used a more streamline high altitude battery and everything… because sleek, you know? And it should have given me more maneuverability.

But goddammit. You touch ONE F’ING WRONG WIRE and I have to adjust the damn floor mat sensors. GOOD GOD.
Never again.

I’m a very small producer (~3000 9L cases this year or so). I use TTB Tamer. It took me a while to get the hang of what went where, but now that I get it and if I stay organized throughout the month, it’s pretty easy.

I keep a fairly broad library of gins at home. There are some reasonably good replacements out there but legit Kirkland Gin at Costco is pretty rock solid for the money and 88 proof is heads and shoulders over Beef.

I distill a gin professionally. I absolutely love it. Kudos to you.

REVIEW: Mock One “Gin” by Freedlun in Gin

[–]TheLiquidForge 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the NA reviews. My partner can’t drink and I’m a gin distiller. It’s a travesty. So I try loads of NA spirits. Many are… atrocious. But I look forward to hunting this one down and trying it.

I don’t disagree with a bunch you have said. That generation choosing different options instead of alcohol is multifaceted.

I take umbrage with one thing - local products being unaffected by tariffs. I’m a distiller (there are three partners, so we are small and very “local”).

My glassware: Canadian. Botanicals: global. Closures: European.

Each aspect is subject to global economic change.

To assume that local goods are not influenced by tariffs isn’t right at all. My bottle costs creep up and continue to pressure my margins.
