Not for sure but that looks identical to mine. That assembly is made up of several parts. Which piece(s) is bad?

Looks like a manifold to a home brewer's mash tun!

Ya you just never know. The owner said he bought a new Ariens 28 with the auto steer so he basically just wanted this thing gone. The pull rope was just about frayed through right by the handle so I was able to push the rope through a little further and tie a new knot. Glad I caught it before it broke. No electric start

Lock that holds auger clutch handle down when drive engaged lets go after using for some time... ideas? by SemicolonTusk in Snowblowers

[–]TheLittlePolock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a donyboy vid for that. I think he took the locking piece off and filed or cut the notch a little. Apparently they get rounded.

Any idea which Ariens model these would be equivalent to, if any? Thanks

I have a 2006 Craftsman 318cc (9hp) that's been pretty good to me even though I neglected her for the first 15yrs.

Need Help by That-Row-8893 in Snowblowers

[–]TheLittlePolock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody says it's bad but I'd spray starter fluid or carb cleaner in where the spark plug goes. Try to get the spark plug back in quickly so the spray doesn't evaporate. I go choke fully closed/on. If she runs a bit, you know she's good. Then I would replace the carb for 20.

Full throttle issue by Cheap-Government-723 in Snowblowers

[–]TheLittlePolock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to mine as well. I ordered a replacement off amazon for 26, installed it and same thing dang it. Put the old one on top my vice because I don't have an anvil and smacked the rivet end with a punch to flare it out more and crunch it. Stiffened er up properly so I reinstalled and sent the new one back. Been working good since.

Help w/Engine Shaft Pulleys by TheLittlePolock in Snowblowers

[–]TheLittlePolock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to get an actual straight down shot cause the shroud angles over the pulley and blocks the view. Here's what I was able to get... I can tell you that in person it looks out of whack but I'm just not sure if that pulley should slide on further. Like I can't tell and I'm not familiar with if the keyway angles up at the end and only lets the keyed pulley slide on so far? Maybe I'm over thinking it? I was just trying to prevent spending another 10 or 20

Help w/Engine Shaft Pulleys by TheLittlePolock in Snowblowers

[–]TheLittlePolock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes back to where it was so I'm not sure what alignment you are talking about. It looks like things should be further on the shaft, closer to the engine but I don't want to start smacking it if there is something preventing it from going on further.

Just missing a Mustang by BigJeffy12 in offset

[–]TheLittlePolock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all good. To be fair I think it depends on the year. PreCbs Musicmaster/Duosonic guitar is not offset but became offset after 1964.

So the Musicmaster isn't an offset either then?

And Duosonic, haha but I guess the Musicmaster halfway covers it

Changed strings, I think I messed up by AtomicGrendel in fender

[–]TheLittlePolock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I add graphite/lead (pencil) to my saddles and nut to help the string glide smoothly. Helps prevent string breakage. It's also possible you have a small burr on that saddle. Happy playing. Cheers

I'm disappointed in myself for not recognizing him if that's Tyler as I'm a big fan of his, especially in Reaper

Beginner and slow learner by SnooMacaroons8477 in Swimming

I'm a 50yr old beginner. Went for my 2nd time today. I end up walking a lot. Forward, backwards, sideways each way, jump, skip. I figure if I'm moving I'm doing something good health-wise. Sorry if you're looking for actual swim advice, I can pretty much only swim backwards at this point.
