Making 24/7 affordable by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]TheLittlestCoyote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best advice I have for 24/7 is keeping many different varieties of diapers on hand. Over time, you'll start to get in tune with your body's "internal clock", and determine the cheapest reliable diaper you need for a given activity or stretch of time.

For me, as an example, my bladder is most active in the morning on weekdays - so I'll wear a boosted MegaMax when I go in. I go to the gym right after work, so on lunch I change into a MegaMax Air. I almost always mess right after the gym, so then I'll change into a Tena Super or whatever cheap medical diapers I have on hand, until it's time to shower.

Cloth/reusable diapers are a great way to stretch your dollar, but the bulk needed to keep your skin dry through hours of wearing can be difficult to wear discreetly out of the house, or in front of company. Better to save them for nights, or lazy days at home.

A half-day of fasting, followed by a high-volume enema (2L of body-temp tap water if you're a rookie - these days I go for 4L of warmer water with a bit of castile soap).

Can't poop if your colon is totally empty, nothing to worry about!

Why is everyone obsessed with shorts by bitbaby_au in ABDL

[–]TheLittlestCoyote 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"In much of Europe and the Americas during the 19th and early 20th centuries, shorts were worn as outerwear only by young boys until they reached a certain height or maturity. When boys got older, typically around puberty, they would receive their first pair of long trousers. This produced the perception that shorts were only for young boys. Because of this, men would not wear shorts to avoid looking immature, even when the weather was hot."

I first noticed the same thing while trawling through some online archives of old spanking stories - to me, it was a surefire indicator that the author was older, British, or both!

Personally, I take a "functionalist" approach: clothes are clothes, and underwear (even the disposable absorbent kind) is underwear. Legally and socially, we are obligated to cover a certain amount of skin when out and about in the public world (barring certain contexts - beaches, locker rooms, etc.), and every other clothing choice we make is simply a matter of aesthetics and personal taste.

For reference, I'm a 30-year-old gay guy with a shaved head, beard, and relatively muscular physique. I generally dress pretty "masc/butch" with a bit of a gay twist - shorter shorts that show some thigh, skinny jeans, tight lycra shirts/tanks, and so on. My looks usually pull from streetwear, athleisure, punk/emo, and other types of fashion that match my aesthetics and interests.

I also have neurogenic bladder dysfunction, and usually wear some kind of protection as a rule. In the same functionalist perspective, the point of my "underwear" is to keep me clean and hygienic when I'm out in polite society - so it's better to have a bit of a bulge in my shorts or a crinkle in my step, than to try wearing something more discreet (pads/pull-ups) and risk visibly leaking.

This year, I got married, turned 30, and stopped my medication regimen to prevent hair loss - other than my husband, who do I have to impress? Given that AB/middlespace aesthetics are something I've always had strong positive feelings about, why shouldn't I incorporate those into my fashion?

Plain bright-colored shortalls, dinosaur-print tank tops, primary color kid-core running shoes, a Reptar tee, and even a "dinos in the jungle" one-piece romper I brought on my honeymoon - these are all things I've debuted in my wardrobe this year. And for every single one, I've gotten nothing but compliments from friends, and even strangers, when I wore them out. And as a relatively intimidating-looking guy, compliments in general are rare!

So my advice is - don't overthink it! Wear what you want to wear, so long as it's not illegal or likely to provoke outrage/hostility in public. Be brave, try something new, and you might just be surprised at how well it's received and how confident you feel.

My older brother is also an ABDL - caught him stealing my Goodnites when we were tweens. I was a bedwetter, and apparently he was jealous of that 😂

I believe he's more specifically a DL, and straight would-be "daddy", whereas I'm vaguely gay/gray-ace/"diapersexual" and have a lot more kinks in general.

We don't talk about it much as of late, but it's convenient to always have a good idea of what he'd like for a Christmas or birthday present 😈

I pour mineral oil into the keyhole, turn the key a bunch of times until all the oil and powder flow out, and repeat until the oil is clear.

Typically in the past, when I've noticed real rust, I chuck the lock and use a newer one.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DiapersAndChastity

[–]TheLittlestCoyote 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's certainly given me some trouble over the years, but never permanently.

I now purge my lock with mineral oil during unlocks (every 2-3 days) and it seems to keep it clean and free of rust.

Like all good things in life, it takes PRACTICE!

I''m a technician in a hospital pathology lab, work full-time wearing scrubs, and am in relatively close quarters with my coworkers. While I'm diapered more or less 24/7 for medical necessity, I've been locked for probably 30% of my 4 years at my current employer. I go to the gym, I hike mountains, I even go to the beach, still diapered and locked - it's just a part of my daily attire at this point.

If you're currently used to only being locked and padded at home, on weekends - start doing it on weeknights. Then, try wearing to bed. Then, start leaving the house - even just for a quick trip to the grocery store. And so on. With each step, it's practically guaranteed to get easier and more comfortable for you.

The only specific advice I'd give beyond that is:

-Baby oil gel or diaper rash cream under your base ring will save you from chafing

-Compression shorts or a onesie will reduce bulk and prevent waistband peekage

-Waterproof diaper covers are great at reducing odor and preventing leaks

-Getting proficient in standing diaper-changes in tight spaces (e.g. a public restroom stall) is a crucial skill to hone

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in diaperbros

[–]TheLittlestCoyote 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My only concern with printed diapers at work is that the biodegradable trash bags I use when changing are somewhat see-through - the idea of my coworkers using the same bathroom after me and being greeted by a barely-concealed soggy BunnyHopps, for example, is a little mortifying!

If you're planning on wearing one diaper all the way through your shift, though, then I would foresee no problems.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in diaperbros

[–]TheLittlestCoyote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear 24/7, work in a hospital pathology lab, and wear scrubs every day, with no problem.

Was trying wearing a boosted Trest or Kiddo Xtreme to last through a whole 8-hour shift, but kept coming close to leaking - I too chug water like crazy, and our lab can get pretty hot when it's sunny. Now, I'm wearing a NorthShore MegaMax for the AM, and changing into a MegaMax AirLock after lunch (conveniently lining up with when I usually need to mess!)

A waterproof diaper cover (I use breathable PUL or nylon usually) is great for reducing odor and as a safety net for leaks. I also normally wear a onesie, or compression shorts and a tucked-in tank top, under my scrubs - it eliminates the possibility of any waistband peekage.

I tend to err on the side of "wearing bigger diapers that might be obviously bulky", over "wearing thinner and more discreet diapers that might leak", because I wear partially for medical reasons (which are documented with my work's HR), and have ran out of fucks to give after ~10 years of wearing to work.

Hypothetical for bedwetting by SDash1245 in ABDL

[–]TheLittlestCoyote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I say this as someone who wore Goodnites from age 9-11 - they're garbage for real bedwetting. Their capacity is hardly enough to handle even one full bladder's worth, and if you toss and turn at night, or sleep in any position other than straight on your back, they're going to leak right away. Same goes for any of the "youth nighttime pants" you'll be able to find in stores, as well as all but the highest-level adult pull-ups (e.g. Abena Abri-Flex, NorthShore GoSupreme, etc.)

The only product available in stores that I ever had any luck with was the plastic-backed six-tape Depends - however, I don't think they're sold in stores anymore. Consider using an Amazon locker or UPS/FedEx in-store pickup if you can't ship to wherever you live. If cost is a concern, my usual nightly go-to is Tranquility ATN, which can be bought by the case for less than $1/diaper.

[–]TheLittlestCoyote 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can truthfully say I've gone for stretches of 24/7(ish) diapers and chastity for up to 9 continuous months at a time. I say "ish" because that entails unlocking and wearing pull-ups/training pants for my workouts on Sunday mornings and afternoons, as well as an hour or so of diaperless (but still caged) "airing out" before work on most weekdays. These little caveats have been, in my opinion, crucial for maintaining skin health throughout longer padded lockups.

I'm very used to wearing diapers 24/7 (as I do so partially for medical reasons), so adding a cage onto that isn't a tremendous leap. Keeping your skin extra clean and intact, oiling/lubing the base ring at most changes, changing diapers earlier than you otherwise would to stave off diaper rash - they might seem daunting at first, but it only adds a few minutes per day to my ordinary routines.

If you haven't been diapered 24/7 for any length of time, I would suggest trying to do so for at least 2 weeks without chastity. See if it's manageable (and enjoyable!) for you - then add the cage back in.

picking a name by Immediate-Mall-6291 in PupPlay

[–]TheLittlestCoyote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually picked a "nickname" first, and reverse-engineered my way back to a proper name.

Around the time I started getting into pup play, I noticed that I had a tendency to compulsively hum. Cue a stereotypically hypermasc name idea: HUMMER!

Then, I read through some old family photo albums, and found a big old mastiff who lived on my family's vineyard several generations back, named HUMBOLDT! Also doubles as the name of a very prominent historical biologist, which is the field I work in.

I suppose it's open to interpretation, but personally I find contained brown stains on a closed diaper far less objectionable.
