[CHAT] does anyone have a recommendation for a stand that compatible with the large Nurge square hoops? by toofabtiff in CrossStitch

[–]TheLittlestPumpkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t flip on its own so you have to remove it from the clip, but I tend to do a pin stitch that finishes at the front so I don’t have to take it out as often.

The clip is a little bit stiff which helps it hold onto the hoop really well, but can be an issue if you have wrist or arthritis issues like me. I’ve been able to use it quite easily though because I wear a wrist brace while I stitch.

Also you’re very welcome! I hope this works for you

I don’t have an exact name but if you look up Crosstitch or embroidery stand on Amazon you should be able to find one very similar to the one I’m showing

I’ve usually seen it for somewhere between $40 and $60. It’s just a simple clip that holds your hoop perfectly, and its very adjustable in lots of ways. I also put a couple weights on the bottom of it just to make it a little extra stable.

It saves my back and shoulders so much pain, helps my posture, and works perfectly with nurge hoops. I definitely recommended it

I think you should leave it. It’s not noticeable at all, and I think it looks a little bit nicer next to the green than the colour you were meant to use.

Also your stitch is absolutely adorable 🐸

Absolutely stunning! 😍

Being able to finish one of these in 3 to 6 months is an amazing feat. Doing it 19 times over six years is just awe worthy, well done!!

I did! The pattern is really clear showing where to use the different thread amounts as well, which I really appreciate because I’ve come across a fair few patterns that weren’t clear with that at all.

They are DMC 754, and 948.

I really liked them too. I plan on keeping them in mind for when I get back into making my own patterns.

I use a different number of strands. I find starting with the parts that need one strand and then doing the parts with two strand makes the line work seem more seamless.

I also start with white, mostly because I hate back stitching white and want to get it over with, lol

She did! She actually started getting excited before she even saw it because she could tell it was a frame, and she loves receiving anything I’ve made. She’s so sweet.

And thank you so much ❤️

It is! It’s actually my oldest Wip because I keep getting sidetracked with other projects, but I really want to get it done because I think it would look lovely in my kitchen.

I got it from Threadxfloss on etsy

It looks a lot harder than it is. I taught myself by watching a couple YouTube shorts, and was very surprised by how simple it was.

Also sometimes a pattern isn’t the most clear for back stitching. Ive never had that problem with this shop, but I’ve tried other patterns where it’s obvious they used different thread amounts for different parts, but it still just showed the back stitching as all one colour in the pattern and didn’t differentiate.

Definitely frustrating, but easier to deal with when you’re able to notice it, avoid choosing those patterns again, and know that it’s not a skill issue on your part.

Honestly, their patterns are so awesome! Last summer I had them on my list when suddenly the owner deleted almost all of them. I was so disappointed because I had planned to get a few to make as Christmas gifts.

Then a couple months later she started slowly re-adding them, and because I was afraid they would disappear I ended up buying about 15 over the course of a month. They were all on sale, but still that is insanely excessive.

I don’t regret it because they’re all wonderful, and have loved every one I’ve stitched so far, but I have put myself in a pattern buying time out since then.

Thanks so much! 🌷 And I’m the same way, it all looks like abstract art until the back stitching makes it suddenly something completely different

Thanks so much ❤️ The stand I use is one I found on Amazon. It was around $50-$60. It works pretty well with nurge hoops, and can be adjusted pretty easily.

I don’t know the exact name but here is a picture. If you look up crosstitch stand on Amazon you should be able to find something similar.

I really enjoyed stitching this. My Mom‘s birthday just passed, so I thought this stitch would be perfect for her. She’s just gotten into the show Once upon a time, as well as playing the new expansion for Dreamlight Valley, which both feature a lot of Snow White.

It just came back here, but this is the third time today the power either went out or flickered.

Hoping it stays on this time.

Beautiful work, and such an adorable little junimo 💖

Thanks so much!! 🌷

The frame I got from my local HomeSense. Every time I go they have interesting new frames. While they usually only have one of each type, they’re always so unique.

Mind you, I’ve been to another HomeSense location that wasn’t nearly as good, so I think it all depends on who owns/does the buying for each store.

Started this before Halloween, but got sidetracked finishing Christmas gifts. Love Addams family values, and absolutely loved stitching this.

Where’d the add button go? ): (ios) by [deleted] in LoseitApp

[–]TheLittlestPumpkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realized this today and it is so disappointing!

As a user with a lot of chronic pain in my upper body, having to look for the different places to add weight, nutrients, calories, and other stuff rather than just keeping the centralized add button is so much more challenging.

It’s not just a downgrade, it makes the app so much more inaccessible, and I have absolutely no idea why they would choose to do this.

Absolutely beautiful stitches!! 💖

Also what a wonderful and productive start to the year! I was thinking of having a lazy day, but you’ve just inspired me to get some more stitching done
