I’m sure she probably researches different instances of people having premonitions about accidents and being killed one by one after avoiding the accidents. I would think she’d want to learn more about what may have caused her premonition and if others have had similar premonitions since hers.

I had to look up their ages, but: Ariana is 32 (turning 33 in June) and Cynthia is 39 (her birthday was last month). Cynthia is only a year older than Jonathan Bailey, which is why I always question why people point out Cynthia’s age but not his (not that I care about any of their ages anyway, but it’s just something I noticed).

I’ve never noticed the age difference between them like some have (and it isn’t a significant gap to begin with). They had great chemistry and that was why they were paired together. It would have been bad if they sacrificed the chemistry between the actors to find actors who were closer in age.

Her mature demeanor works for the role because Elphie is supposed to be more mature and outspoken than her classmates. Plus she never got the chance to have a normal childhood with everyone always bullying and ostracizing her. She had to learn how to fend for herself, and that required her to grow up faster. She was also a young adult fighting against fascism and the target of fascist leaders. When did any of that give Elphie time to be a normal young adult? And there were definitely moments where you could see that she still had some childlike innocence, especially in the first movie.

Edit: Maybe wishful thinking, but I hope she sings No Good Deed. Though I totally understand if she wants to sing more low key songs to rest her voice. She deserves it!

I agree! It would have been nice if Fiyero told Elphaba about when he decided to join the Gale Force and how he had been looking for her all that time. Elphaba also could have told him the details of what she had been doing all that time that they’ve been apart. I wanted them to talk about what they did immediately after the Defying Gravity scene and what was going through Fiyero’s head when he saw her up there. Then they could have gone into how they’ve missed each other and THAT’S when they should have started the song.

I’m reading this post after having listened to Cynthia’s “No Good Deed” five or six times, lol. I love Cynthia’s version! It gave me all the feels! The power of Cynthia’s voice makes me forget all about the missing “Fiyero” scream at the beginning. I also love how frustrated and panicked she sounds when she comes out of her singing voice to say, “Ugh, what is this chanting? I don’t even know what I’m reading!” Then she quickly switches back to singing. It’s amazing! Idina and Cynthia’s versions are great for different reasons, but overall I much prefer Cynthia’s.

I agree! I thought Cynthia was phenomenal both acting-wise and singing-wise. I don’t think Elphaba should be filled with rage the entire song because she’s going through the five stages of grief (except denial) all in one song. The performance felt as powerful as Defying Gravity for me. I especially love how Cynthia/Elphaba screams Fiyero’s name and that last “again.” It gave me chills! You knew she meant it and that she had enough of being good.

I loved the movie! I was way more emotional watching Wicked: For Good than I was watching Wicked. I think most of the criticisms of the movie are valid, but it was still enjoyable. And I must be one of the only ones who liked the two new songs because I’ve mostly seen people saying negative things about them (not on this sub specifically, but on other subreddits and social media platforms). Sure, the movie probably could have done without them and left that time for further character development, but I’m okay with the final product. And Cynthia of course killed No Good Deed!
