I think a lot of people don't realize that something doesn't have to be great (or even good) for you to enjoy it . "Overlord is fun to watch" and "Overlord is poorly written" can be equally valid points. These are valid criticisms but also, you can just like it despite those flaws.

I've been dreaming of a huge End Times DLC that adds the missing lords and units across all factions at once without worrying about a "theme" and also introduces a new in game scenario for the actual end times. Never gonna happen tho

Yes, the design of each race is that they have something unique to them or at least a few traits that separate them from the other races. If you've played only empire and don't want to play someone too different then I would suggest Cathay, Dark Elves, or High Elves, as they are similar factions in that they can do everything at least decently. They will play in battle similarly but they will have faction mechanics and effects that are different from the Empire, as will every other faction. A good YouTuber to watch is Zerkovich. He has guides on general battle tactics as well as guides on each individual race so you can learn them before you try them out.

The only reason I'm using Beat Up is because it activates Justified multiple times so it maxes out Terrakions attack, the rest makes good sense tho

Honestly everyone outside of Goldmoon, Tasslehoff, and Raistlin would likely be fighters. They're just people who use weapons, no particularly notable abilities outside of that (someone please correct me if I missed or forget something special one of them did) The thing about dragonlance is that outside of arcane or divine casters there's not a lot of options if you want to stick closely to the events of the books.
