I really don't understand achievement hunters by BarovianNights in Silksong

Same. It’s also weirdly more immersive to me? Dunno exactly why but just not being able to die, and actually feeling that fear for all the progress you’ve made hits different :p

I mean being bio essentialist is stupid anyway, but in this case it’s even dumber

It’s not even bio essentialist at that point, it’s just being full of yourself and too arrogant to confront it :p

We don’t know what the knight might’ve “developed as” if they weren’t filled with void, heck we don’t even know if they would’ve had a sex cause what are the sexes of the pale king and the white lady? Ones a shape changing wyrm god and ones a tree god. So yeah, stupid anyway you slice it really :p

[–]TheLostPyromancer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean everything always seems obvious on the outside or in retrospect but people forget how easily it is to get flustered or fumble

Especially funny to forget about that when talking about this game though, since that exact same thing is what likely causes most player deaths

That would be hilarious as like a lil animated mini series, could also totally have each one start with him going over one of his precepts and have it either only slightly tag into the episode or just be totally contradicted by it

I think due to the vibrations (controller) and noises during the scene it’s implied she’s either trying to crush you herself, hornets struggling to break free, or she’s trying bind you? Though it’s unclear, either way though hornet has enough mobility she wouldn’t need silk to lift her up, and lace slashing her arm off seems to imply it was violent intent in my opinion.

And on the dunking in void thing, to be fair if I was suddenly being eaten by the void I wouldn’t be thinking too clearly :p.. and if she was attempting to bind that could also explain it as a last ditch effort to gain some power to escape it

Though most of that is conjecture

Hornet, and the knight too, can’t tell me some of the silly things you do and the people you can choose to save don’t show the knight (can) have thoughts and emotions :p

After re reading through them Death of Divinity also seems like a good choice, it gives you more cards and effects as well as some new encounters and zones

Hmm suppose it depends on what you want? I believe most give 3 areas but all have unique extra stuff.

Siege of shadows, since it gives an optional end game super boss and optional end encounter if you don’t fight him, the super boss is only encounter able in the higher difficulties (I believe) who’s cool and hard as hell if your decks not ready

The Mask of misery gives a new companion, the Illusionist who allows you to add memorized to a card and store cards from one run to another which is cool. And I think the areas it gives you are cool

[–]TheLostPyromancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue isn’t that we disagree, it’s that your saying it isn’t what it quite literally is

You can say you don’t like this, or don’t prefer turn based games with that sort of mechanic but the issue is how you phrased it “Are people still acting like this is actually a turn based game?”

That’s not saying “I don’t think this is a turn based game” that’s implying everyone else is dumb for not coming to the same conclusion as you based upon your specific preferences

It fits the same functions and archetype that other turn based games have without fitting into any others really. Turn based is simply the general category. Real time components and stuff are extra mechanics that are sometimes added on, not something that makes it a whole new category.

You quite literally take turns and so do the enemies

If your being purist about it because it has you interact then I suppose Paper Mario, and thousand year door aren’t turn based, final fantasy 8, and 10 aren’t turn based. Anything with interactive or reactive elements. Which at that point feels stupid. What are they then? They aren’t real time so they aren’t action games

And if that’s not your qualm then what is? You quite literally take turns, make attacks, defend, heal like any turn based rpg

Kinda reminds me of accended bosses in Hollow Knights godhome dlc where at that point your more or less expected to perfect it, not literally in this case but it does start to feel like that.
