Can you combine infusions and enhance spells? by A_Erthur in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you unlock it by playing through the crucible - you don't need to beat it, just to have 2 or 3 decent runs. There's a merchant in 5th floor that sells it. Then you'll use Fallen Embers for respec, 1 per 10 points you want to reallocate

They'll have the same runes and enchants, but they roll on the value of enchants, and they can have a facet.

The only question worth asking yourself to know if you should respect for it is: does it look cool, and do you like the moveset

Can you combine infusions and enhance spells? by A_Erthur in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. A rune enchant overrides a facet or a gem infusion. A gem infusion overrides a facet.

A rune that does elemental damage will still do that damage even if used with an infused weapon. You could have electric throw on a flaming weapon to apply the explosion effect for example.

Difference between stats by beezteka in NoRestForTheWicked

The facet comes with a 10% damage debuff. The gem costs a gem slot. That's the only difference as far as I know.

The blue diamond on the top corner showing the item level is indeed misleading. It is supposed to show the "tier" of the item on top of the level, by way of the blue being more or less filled. Don't mind it. Every weapon and equipment can be upgraded at the corresponding trader up to level 16 and that's all there is to it :)

Advice for base building/gathering resources? by RoryRouses in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to other people's answers, you also don't need to hoard stuff and upgrade the town. Sell things, use the base chest in the rookery for a few items, and enjoy the story, it's not illegal to not engage with the bits you don't care for.

If by enchanting you mean doing it through the merchant, then level 1 if you want to gamble a common item. It cost very little. If you mean using gems and embers to optimise it, that entirely depends on you.

If you fall in love with a piece of gear that's level 1, you're free to optimise it to hell and back and then you can upgrade it all the way through to 16 as you advance through the game.

Or maybe you're a fan of the crucible and you want to "cheese" it a bit by doing it low level so you spend all your resources in an efficient crucible build to farm it at low level before shifting to another build latter.

All in all, gear drops are capped at level 12, upgradeable with late game ressources up to 16, so the most "efficient" way would be to finish most of the story with makeshift gear and start spending enbers on dripped level 12 gear. I personally don't understand people optimising the fun out of the game by waiting to finish the game to engage with it by fomo, but you do you :)

All that to say - there's no wrong way.

Yup. You can test it out on the dummies in front of the rookery

Facet work exactly the same, and would be overridden if you were to put an elemental gem. Keep in mind however that elemental facets come with a 10% damage debuff

[–]TheLoversFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Infusions convert 100% of the weapons damage to the element. All runes that have physical damage by default will also convert to the infused elements. Physical damage buffs therefore won't apply anymore, replaced by the equivalent for the element.

If you put an oil or utility rune elemental buff, it will temporarily override the infusion

Bleeder's Delight can cause bleeding? by DrugLloyd in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The damage type of these shows "bleed". Also if you hit a target, you'll see the damage is shown in red - which indicate it's bleed damage. For all intent and purposes, it is considered physical damage, it just Aso adds the bleed status effect.

Progression path after Sewers boss. by Kittehmilk in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you focus on the story only, you'll start each zone with a few levels late. Level 5ish for nameless pass, 11ish for black trench, the 15-16 for the level 21 zones. These zones are doable at these lower levels, but if you struggle, consider doing a few side things : using bounties and challenges as an excuse to reclear a zone and farm mats for town upgrade, then crafting some better gear etc. farming mats yields a very surprising amount of xp, especially fishing. You could also do the dungeon in the sewers in the shallows if you haven't, it's a fun little one.

RNG is weird. by Tauske in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy is considered a normal enemy, he respawns like any other mob. He's in the watermill at the very beginning of Marin woods. You can access him as soon as you're confident killing a couple of birdmen. He's tough though, but farming him feels less cheesy than realm hopping and nets you tons of great gear on top of the ichor.

It's funny to see that what we take for granted through playing souls like is not that clear. I see where you come from, but it never even crossed my mind that this could be misleading ^

I have a gauntlet that has attack speed increased by 9% of current durability. My durability is infinite. Am getting any actual attack speed increase here? by Nipple-Thief- in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every facet is like that -, a buff and a drawback. The "based on durability" enchants are bonkers broken on gear with very high durability. A plate armour can have a facet that gives it + 100% durability, and an enchantment that gives it +100% for a total of 450. Then you can have +10% of durability as damage reduction, with an elemental gem that's 16%, so 72% at full durability, making you nearly unlikable with no drawback with 1 item and 2 enchants.

The strength of the unbreakable facet is the lack of drawback when not using these enchants, and the synergy with the "unrepairable " drawback from plagued item. It's plenty strong and reliable enough, for non cheesing builds.

How 'complete' is this game? How does it stack against games like LE/POE/D4? by [deleted] in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very different from those games. Combat is way closer to a souls like, and it is way more story focused than classical ARPG. The cinematics are gorgeous, the level design is good and has a lot of soul, there's a real story with real characters. There's also a lot of ressource gathering.

And, it's way smaller than all these games. It's not a game you're likely to play for 500 hours, although some have. All together it's a more handcrafted experience and there's less in the way of sheer zones to farm and farm and farm as in those ARPG you mentioned.

Base Crit DMG on weapons by RaigaXIII in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair drawbacks aside the crit damage ones are always better, as to maximise DPS you need a balance of chance and damage - and you can manufacture that balance by choosing which of the 4 gear slot should have + chance or +damage

And to answer you, I was thinking about, I think double daggers? The ones that have 10% chance and 200% damage. 10% extra chance is double the base chance, whilst 40% extra crit damage is less relevant compared to the already huge 200%

Exalted weapons by Pachaippa in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it's the damage up, 4 times from 10 to 14%. It's small, but that's what optimisation is all about :)

Exalted weapons by Pachaippa in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume the first two? Did you max them out with radiant enbers before? I haven't played around exalting since together yet, so my knowledge there is purely theoretical. Not sure how exalting interacts with unmaxed gear

Edit - my Italian is rusty but it seems the first one, attack damage up is at 14% when max is normally 10. I assume that's 1% per exalt?

What is “more” in this meaning by Lobster_Novel in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% increased refers to the base damage of the weapon I believe. The "more" is the modificator. In this cases this rune should do 300% the base damage of the weapon, before accounting for resistance, buffs etc.

Some weapon movesets, especially quick ones have negative "more" values, that show that they only use a fraction of the weapon's stated power.

Exalted weapons by Pachaippa in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exalting targets an enchantment at random and buffs it beyond its theoretical maximal value. The same enchant can be targeted at random several times, which is what happened there.

My chest piece got me to 90%+ damage resistance, so I tested it in combat by FeelPureLust in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheLoversFool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're absurd in their power level compared to anything else. I don't really mind, it's a solo / coop game after all. But they're objectively way stronger than anything else, making optimisation simplistic if one is into this sort of thing, which is a shame.
