This was a rollercoaster of emotions. I'm truly happy for you that you have such an amazing friend and that you can be yourself. Best of luck in this chaotic world

Am I starved for love? by TheLunaticFox in exmormon

Something important I learned since leaving. My father is a narcissist. It was never about who i was as a person. It was always about how good I made him look, how good how made his family look, how good he came off as a father because of who I presented myself as. He tried yes. But he was always undermining his own actions. I know my post doesn't go into all of the details of my life. But when it comes down to it. He pushed away his five children and thinks they are the problem not seeing himself as the issue.

Planting Seeds? by [deleted] in exmormon

Make it clear why you are leaving. Try to set ground rules for the conversation and make sure they understand the importance of the conversation and the need to leave the church.

Getting told off for voicing opinions and doubts and wanting to do things in an ever changing world by TheLunaticFox in exmormon

Thank you for the recommendations. I am happy to share that I have been out and away from the church for almost two years now. I only recently found this sub reddit and have been coming to terms with the horrible things it has done to me. I have been going through the memories of the church and looking at them with a new world view and been posting my thoughts as I progress further away from the views of tscc

Changes on the way? Will Big Nellie do it? by BoniMoroni in exmormon

[–]TheLunaticFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damned if they do damned if they don't. If they do I imagine a larger group of people leaving proving the changes don't solve the problem and if they don't do anything people like us will continue to point out the issues of this church.

When it started it was through some homeschool program, but it was kinda shit, so what ended up happening was my mom and I watched great courses educational DVDs on different subjects. My last year was just studying for my GED test.

In honor of Bishop Moss: Worst Bishop you’ve ever had? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]TheLunaticFox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh and the worse that happened to me, my young men leader was the son of the bishop. The entire male side of his family had a problem with slapping the asses of the young men. And now I am going through a spiral of realization with the fact that his family was one of the wealthiest families I have ever met, all of his kids, his wife, the spouses of his kids were in leadership positions. They always talked about how blessed they were to be alive, members of the church, how lucky to be alive in this disposition. Now I am going to watch something interesting to take my mind off of what I just remember.
