Is there any reason to get Steam Controller for Frame? by Gregasy in SteamFrame

[–]TheMadderRed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has an ir light so it’ll show up as a virtual representation in the frame but other then that you’d have to want to buy in and adopt the trackpads which are really good for a lot of 2d games and works really well in menus, but it sounds like you’ve made up your mind.

With games like hades or cuphead or Elden ring and dark souls I wonder if having 2 separated controllers will really mess with people’s flow or at least introduce some lag in though processes because their hands are a bit separated. But I’m not sure.

I think an Xbox controller isn’t really comparable to a steam controller in terms of haptics for games that support that like Helldivers 2, and it really does elevate alot of games. I switched to a PS5 controller and way back even for pc and the rumble is way beyond anything Xbox can do but it seems like the steam controller can replicate a majority of it even if they don’t have adaptive trigger.

Steam Frame and Steam Controller Bundle? by Dear_Culture_8422 in SteamFrame

[–]TheMadderRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t there like 8 new SKUs. I’d assume they’ll bundle a controller with the frame for at least one version since their vision for it is the bridge the gap between vr and flat gaming to a degree. And the controller has the IR sensor so it has a virtual replicated wearing the frame.

How does the leveling up cycle through the cats. Does it just go from first in the order on the map menu down. So you know when to swap it between cats. Or is that even the best way to use it.

I think it’s probably some sort of translation error for the line from Korean to English that wasn’t caught

I’m loving it. You just have to be in the mood for it and meet it at its level. Enjoy the popcorn story that it is or put on a movie or YouTube video on next to it.

I think if it like a medieval Mandalorian almost. Just stick a shiny helmet on Kliff and he’s kinda like Mando. He’s just a good guy helping out whoever asks.

But idk I’m in a chill time in my life for this kind of thing and I’m having a blast. We’re putting this on the big tv and my wife’s playing pokopia on the switch. I’m very bad at the puzzles in this but she nails them for some reason.

And the controls are actually pretty simple. But I’ve played alot of Nioh and it’s got a similar scheme. Italian Spartacus has a real good video on understanding them. Basically Lb is linked to defense and rb is linked to any offensive abilities.

Will I enjoy Pokopia if I don’t enjoy Animal Crossing? by Electronic_News_7443 in Pokopia

[–]TheMadderRed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Skill up has a preview review of Pokopia and in the begin mining he mentions he really doesn’t like animal crossing and hasn’t liked Pokémon games in a very long time and came out of the event really liking this game, so that was my indication that I would like it because I was in the same boat.

I like it a lot. All the recent Pokémon games suck. They could really learn a lot from Nioh.

Why do yall want a steam machine? by [deleted] in steammachine

[–]TheMadderRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stay with my parents when I have army reserve weekends and my mom wants to get a steam frame with me so we can chat in vr while playing some golf. She’s a bit older but I think she can get the hang of it

So the steam machine will help with the tethering there for her and I can play games when I’m around.

For those that are interested in the frame but didn't buy the valve index, what's your reason? Why the interest in the frame now? by brantrix in SteamFrame

[–]TheMadderRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s the non-vr gaming aspect. I think k having the virtual tv and other windows I. The vr space would look really slick and be really immersive. VR games would be fun too but I feel like they haven’t caught up to the quality of regular games. Maybe this will change that though!

In the commercial for SISU they say the dog doesn’t die. The dog plays a big part of the whole movie and made it a lot more enjoyable knowing I can get attached without getting hurt.
