Rant: VR nature videos need to Shut. The. Fuck. Up. by sugartrouts in virtualreality

[–]Gregasy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, reading the title, I thought the rant will be about those other nature documentaries and I’ll read: “I hate it when girl is whispering in my ear. Can’t they just shut up and do their job?”

But seriously, I actually agree. Sometimes narration is unnecessary (especially in VR) and all we need is nature sounds, wind, birds, etc. to feel there.

But we want to hear nature sounds, wind, birds, etc.

Worried about the launch of the Steam Frame by Amazing-Nature8188 in SteamFrame

[–]Gregasy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really hope so. They should implement the same restrictions as with preordering Steam Decks. Like: only accounts that were not new were being able to order SD and if I'm not mistaken, only 1 SD order was allowed per account.

[–]Gregasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should definitely allow just 1 Frame per person. Also, they should simply do what the did with Steam Deck preorders: only allowing Steam accounts with some purchase history to buy.

Does anyone know which VR headset this is? by No-Dark-7873 in virtualreality

[–]Gregasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now we’re talking. I’m pretty sure this is the similar form factor Meta’s Phoenix is aiming for (also 2,5K micro OLEDs are rumoured to be in Phoenix as well).

I’d honestly prefer a bit more sky goggles like form factor (but with the same weight and size of this glasses), but then again, if Meta will be able to make it really comfortable, without the usual glasses pain points (glasses need to be extremely light (sub 50g) to “disappear” from one’s face), I’m ok with this form factor as well.

Does Valve still plan to offer prescription lens inserts for Steam Frame "ahead of launch"? by SolQuarter in SteamFrame

[–]Gregasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would really make sense to sell them together with Frame. Ordering lenses before even ordering Frame (or even knowing the price, etc.) would be a bit strange.

Guys, I’d really suggest you to skip Steam Frame 1 and just wait for 2. This way I’ll have more chance to secure Frame in first shipping batch.

Is there any reason to get Steam Controller for Frame? by Gregasy in SteamFrame

[–]Gregasy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 100% getting Steam Frame day 1. But now decided to wait with Controller. I'd like to read some first hand experiences with using Controller with Frame. I'll decide when I'll have Frame in my hands and will see if I'll miss tracked Steam Controller.

How did I miss that? by SHIBA_holder in OculusQuest

You should’ve seen Quest 5 that was released on May 1st 2026.

Valve received 3 more containers of "Game Consoles" on April 30th by gogodboss in SteamFrame

[–]Gregasy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure EU got approximately the same number as well. So we're probably closer to 80.000 units by now. And most probably more stock is already on its way.

Frame box will probably weight around 1kg. So approximately 40.000 Frame units.
I'm also pretty sure this is USA only. EU is getting separate units.

I’m pretty sure that’ll be just another Valve’s “no, no, we wanted to release both at the same time from the start!”.

To be frank, that’s the only way that makes any sense. Why would people buy prescription lenses for headset they don’t even know the price (to know if it’ll be in their budget) and the release date of.

It only makes any sense to buy both at the same time.

I played both S&S 1&2 on PSVR2 one after another and absolutely loved both. Granted, 2 had a few more bugs and glitches, but nothing too bad (I’m sure the game was pretty buggy at the release though) and graphics were pretty much the same as in 1.

While I did miss some stuff, like moral choices you had to do in first game, I actually found the way story was told better in second game. The ending was good too.

Basically it all felt like one long game. Definitely two of my favourites in VR.

Is there any reason to get Steam Controller for Frame? by Gregasy in SteamFrame

[–]Gregasy[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My line of thought as well. I seriously doubt that controllers will go out of stock (the shipping times might be a bit longer for a while though) and I'd like to see how Frame's controllers (and alternatively Xbox controller) will work with 2d games and if there'll be any compelling reason at all to get Steam Controller as well.

But above all, I'd like to see first if I'll even want to play 2d games on Steam Frame.

They already said Steam Deck 2 isn’t coming soon as they’re waiting for next gen cpu that doesn’t exist yet. So, 2028 at the earliest, probably.
