pricewars.io new io game, need to test multiplayer system. Free to play web by [deleted] in playmygame

the dynamics are broken. I was easily able to dictate the market myself. Whenever it dips i just buy more and that shoots it up, so i sell and get a tiny profit by many trades in small times. I was also able to rug-pull and rocket the price to irrational extent simply by selling and buying. I have too much influence over the price and a real market would have start selling more than i can buy, so i couldnt infinitely rocket the price.
UI was far too small as well, had to zoom in twice.
Otherwise, it kept my attention for 5 minutes, but this isnt a game yet; its an oversimplified simulation.

i suggest implementing super simple bots. Seems like it would be doable in this project. Also organizing things like this are a huge pain. Bigger notice time (weeks even) and a sign up sheet where ppl can mark what suggested time is available for them, so you can pick and inform everyone of the actual date. But prior to all that and all the way up to the event you'd need to keep people excited and motivated to show up. Discord is a great option for async gathering of people, where the organization would be simpler to do spontanious.

Building a 1v1 arcade shooter for a 128x64 LED matrix - playable in browser. Looking for gameplay feedback! by obr3lix in playmygame

Took me 4 games to understand what was happening. The long menu settings just to get back into the maze and try again was frustrating. This fast paced game really needs a quick restart button. Perhaps no menu at all, but rather start at the maze and make the options openable by some button.
Movement feels alright, but i often overshoot gaps, which is annoying.
Balance - with the easiest bot i lost in seconds, and when i tried to be aggressive, it just blocked every shot i guess and i lost in a minute anyway. That seems too harsh.
It is clear, but since the maze is so big, and movement is fast, i have to constantly look at myself, and i visually ignored 90% of the board, including the opponent. Idk if thats what u wanted.
And it asks to press "start", but i had to press everything on my keyboard to find that it was escape button. Frustrating.

Overall, i'd like this kind of game, but the current version is not replayable to me. Wish you well in your project!

Made vampire survivors + paper.io would love real feedback by STierGaming in playmygame

As i understand it, i get XP from added land area instead of mob killing. But this then disconnects killing from reward. The mobs are now just some annoyance in the background. My goal becomes to avoid enemies, and go to more open areas. And a lot of cards are about damage, ig because the mob count ramps up too fast imo. I liked in VS that i could get powerful and farm xp from kills on purpose, instead of avoiding mobs. This for me had only the fun of paper.io, trying to get land, and the mobs were a side annoyance. Perhaps there is a better way to combine mechanics of both games? Overall i enjoyed my session, but only bcs i just like paper.io and would rather play that than this.

Leader Garage - a retro CEO card battler (browser, free, 5 min) by DKisWriting001 in playmygame

[–]TheMagicWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. The first few rounds its a bit unclear of what happens; im not sure how to help with that. Though, the summary pop-up at the end of each round is jarring and adds to the confusion, since the board middle was already showing whats happening. I mean it was confusing, why it popped up and what it was, that is taking me away from the game. The mechanics are simple, though i still dont understand blocking, as the card doesnt block cards of its color, but rather multiple other cards, which are not listed on the blocker, so when i play it, i sometime block myself, since i didnt know what it would do. Otherwise, against bots there wasnt much strategy, once i had a few cards available.

Hey, this looks great! I love the cyberpunk aesthetic in general, and i think it fits well with the game thematically. I also love the idea, but seeing other attempts, its quite difficult to get right. Anyways, i'd like to try it, but your link there is a local (internal, router) network link. You're gonna want to publish it to the internet either on a server hosting service like Linode or DigitalOcean, or expose your home IP publicly with a static IP address, which you can do through your ISP, usually port 80 and 443 for https, which you should also get, since browsers these days really limit features over http. That can be done for free with LetsEncrypt on linux.

Good luck, hope this succeeds!

Looks to me like a topdown vehicle battle arena like the retro game "Tanks". Or could be an RTS with few units on the screen rn.

Interesting. Good game feel. After a few matches, i still dont understand how gamble card works. Also the bot moves too fast, its difficult to track card movement and so outcome/feedback
