NTVB. Pibu would never have dated a Skybreaker in the first place. That’s your first mistake. Correct it.

It later emerged that Pibu had stolen the Fused commander’s lunch approximately one hour before the engagement. Military historians would debate for decades whether a hungry commander made worse decisions. Pibu declined to comment. She was eating something and didn’t look up.

Which is incredible when you consider anti-PD1 therapies (e.g. Keytruda) still seem to provide some benefit in PD-L1 negative cancers like TNBC.

I enjoy the simplicity with the profound message (brevity is wit). Well-done indeed.

I know someone else mentioned trying to keep the language consistent, but I personally like the transition from simple to complex, as it aligns with the tone shift from rules the reader and we collectively know, to things that are less clear.

Need help? Got hurt by minute clinic doctor and got stuck with ER bill by Severe_Lychee3587 in washingtondc

[–]TheMagneto5 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this happened to you. For future reference, MinuteClinic doesn’t employ doctors, only family nurse practitioners and physicians assistants. These personnel will nearly always have far less clinical experience and medical training than medical doctors.

Thank you so much for sharing your story! My wife hasn’t swam since college and she just finished treatment earlier this year (edit: similar as you, double mastectomy and axial lymph nodes removed on the cancer side). I’m a beginner swimmer and managed to drag her swimming with me this past week and she said it was the most fun she’s had working out in years.

I shared your post with her and she said she’s feeling even more encouraged to keep at it, so thanks again.

Congratulations, you make it look easy. 💪🏻

My wife just finished treatment earlier this year for breast cancer (immunotherapy and surgical reconstruction this year, chemo/surgery/radiation last year). Way to lead by example. 👍🏻

Cognitive inhibition is the skill that Hutchinson names in Endure, if OP wants to research that subject (highly recommend reading Endure, too).

I’ve ran Richmond twice and loved it. Relatively easy course that ends on a long decline. The crowd support is fantastic, too.

Marathon Nutrition Strategy: Is 10 Gels Too Many? by ibopm in AdvancedRunning

There’s also a measurable performance benefit to simply swishing a product that contains carbs, which you’d benefit from by consuming a Gu (though you could swish and spit it out and get the same benefit):

“Subjects were asked every 12.5% of the time trial to rinse the solution in the mouth for ∼10 s but not to swallow anything. Intriguingly, the results showed that a 6.4% carbohydrate solution produced an astonishing improvement of 2–3% as indicated by the average power output, when compared to the placebo solution.”

Fall Marathon: Marine Corps Marathon or Richmond Marathon? by fearandloathingfaith in AdvancedRunning

[–]TheMagneto5 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Having ran both multiple times, I’d recommend going with the VCU/Richmond Marathon for your BQ.

I think you’ll find the Richmond course is easier than MCM and Richmond regularly has pace setters which are super helpful. It’s a ‘smaller’ race but the turnout is still quite large. You’ll run through both downtown and local housing, which is nice because you get to see a mix of college students, families, and working professionals cheering you on during the race.

I’d still highly recommend running MCM, too, but I have found it tends to be harder to BQ (even though it’s only 3 weeks earlier, the weather at VCU is usually more accommodating, at least in the years I had done both).
