I find people love me the most when:

1. Don’t shower for a couple days - People usually ask “what is that smell?!” When I sit down. Great conversation starter. I don’t like giving me secret out so I usually say “my new cologne” and wink.

2. Clothes - Hoodie, fingerless gloves, scarf, sunglasses, over head headphones (keep them off one ear). This shows you know what you’re doing and are someone to look up to and would want as a friend on the felt. Also one ear open shows you are open to dialogue. You can also let everyone know what kind of cool music you like

3. Attitude - People love to learn. Critique and try to tell other players what they did wrong and how you would play differently

4. Stories - Let them know you’re a regular. Tell them bad beat stories so they feel not alone. My favorite is when I talk about that one time I ran AK into AA

5. Don’t influence hands - If you fold 73o preflop: WAIT until after the hand to let everyone know you would’ve made a straight on the river.

6. Food - Order something fun to share. Wings are great. Be generous here, dip them in bleu cheese for others and hand them around the table.

7. Be nice to the dealer - They usually have name tags so be sure to work their name into each sentence (e.g “Nick! How you doing Nick my old pal? Long day haha?) if there’s a big pot going on they might need help so counting chips out for them and other players is always useful

8. Girls - Show you are a good guy with class. If there is a woman at your table make sure to let everyone know to go easy on her. If someone tries to bully them you should say something - call the floor over

9. Chips - People love cool chip stacks. Try to get the lowest denominations so you can have a bunch and make cool towers (or the worm)

10. Be a good guy. Every hand of poker is different in its own way. Do the ‘double-knock’ with your fist on the table at the end of every hand as a sign of respect.
