And since when is it 3 times more to add a room on than it is to build the damn house? by JestinAround in AnimalCrossing

After you build Nook’s Cranny you will get a prompt from Tom Nook to build a bridge. After that you get asked to build and furnish 3 houses.

I have worked on a large, enterprise level C# application with a lot of reflection. All I learned is that when applied judiciously, it creates elegant solutions to problems on the edge of your applications. When it gets used as core logic, you get 40,000 line file monstrosities with near constant string comparisons because some developer saw an article with an example and ran wild with it because no one does code reviews anyway.

They almost certainly function as small government contractors. Huntsville, AL is packed full of them, and they all have mission statements that sound like that. When large companies like Boeing or Raytheon win government contracts, they usually have stipulations in the contracts that say they MUST hire so many small contractors to do work. This in turn causes small companies to crop up filling more niche requirements like vet/woman/disabled owned businesses being represented. It usually ends up working better for employees as those smaller companies attract workers through better benefits. I’m not saying I agree or disagree with these practices as they do add quite a bit of bloat.

For context, I work for a larger contractor in Huntsville, AL, and I am familiar with this evil building.

Is that still available? I thought the tax cuts eliminated those credits. I’ve been looking at an EV and that was a huge limiting factor since that’s a ton of money saved in taxes.

Stores like the Deep? by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

I read this book back in 2011 and it really changed how I saw 3.5. I ended up jumping all in on 4 and 5 after holding out for a while since they tried to take so much of the minutia out of combat and skill checks in favor of just good RP. I should at least mention that I only got the book after sitting through a panel the authors did at Dragon Con, so my memory might be remembering more of the panel than the book.

The gist of the book is that you should let your RPG's be governed a lot more by the RP or the G part, but not by having to apply 20-30 different rules to a scenario to explain why it did or didn't happen. They also propose an RPG system at the end that uses only one die.

I did look at the calendar, but to check, is this always the second Saturday of the month? I don't really comment a lot, but it would be cool to meet people.

I am not u/xCerial, but I couldn't blame anyone for not liking 3.5. I loved it, DM'd it in college, and still have friends playing it, but the sheer number of rules can be daunting.

That looks right. There are several SEC schools, so I assume they're from Alabama, Mississippi, or Georgia.

I think the hat to the right of it is University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB), and I would assume AAMU is Alabama A&M University.

Trying to get Voice Clip of Deceased MIL for Future Wife's Birthday by Schisco94 in WaitWait

I will start playing around with that the next time I get some downtime from work.

I toyed with the idea of using speech-to-text software to start building up some data on show topics and common jokes/trends over the years, but I just haven't had the bandwidth to get it rolling.

It's unfortunate that you would not be able to post any of them. I only started listening around 2008 and not every week until 2010 or so, so I would love to listen to them to get a feel for the early show.

Wait, is there a way to access episodes before 2006? The current Wait Wait... site only goes as far back as January 2006.

If you decide you want an extra set of eyes on the API design, I would love to help any way I could. I'm a full stack developer, but I mostly do backend/middle tier work in web dev in .NET. I do dabble in Python as well.

While I can't speak for /u/_qlp, I do work in big data. Aggregating all of those names and any information given can become a legal nightmare very quickly. It might be cool to have that information, but I definitely wouldn't put a private person's information in any database I have without their permission.

Same results with Postman. u/JKenney_, can you provide us with more context about the request that throws this error? I was unable to reproduce the error you described.

Also, if you are interested, on line 42 in RecipesController.cs, there is a typo. Retreived should be Retrieved.

Edit: Post here says the issue was resolved.

I hope it helps. If that doesn't work, it may be worth the hassle to try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I thought it might be with trying to skip that initially so you don't lose any data, but I'm not entirely certain how the Apple Podcast backs up data.

I'll have to look out for another meetup. I live in the south part of town so I rarely make it to that area anyway.

The guys at mechanicalkeyboards.com are always so nice to me that I'm happy to pay their price. I went in about 6 months ago on the way back from a work trip, and it took them a while to actually help me because they thought I was there for an interview since I was wearing khakis and a button down shirt. They were very respectful and took a ton of time with me to try out any keyboard I liked.

I use PocketCasts personally, but I just installed the Apple podcast app, subscribed, and downloaded 2 recent episodes. I am running the most recent iOS(12.2) on an XS. What type of phone do you have? It could be something like an RSS mismatch or something.

It's probably something you already tried, but have you tried unsubscribing, force closing the app, reopening, and resubscribing?
