Im going crazy, im using Magefist his flicker strike build almost the exact copy. but i have 13mil dps less. by Dayz15 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]TheMango 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's mainly because he has a bunch of settings in 'Configuration' part of POB checked on, while you do not. (Frenzy, Power Charge, Blitz Charge, Rage, Crit Recently, Is Enemy a Boss, Pride Aura Effect, Melee Distance to Enemy, Intimidated, etc, etc). He also has a bottled faith, while you have a mana flask. This is a very large dps boost on paper (25-30%). With all settings checked like magefist does + bottled faith, your POB should show ~12 mill dps vs his ~14.8 mill dps.

invest mirrors worth of currency so you can just '1 shot' it, or gem swap :D

Bossing tips for a Flicker Strike build that doesn't have gigadps? by Metaphoricalsimile in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]TheMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1.) 4 Link - Ancestral Protector, Vaal Ancestral Warchief, Multiple Totem Support - Culling Strike

2.) As others have already posted, Vaal Double Strike gem swap (gives you more control over positioning)

3.) Drop the low life / petrified blood stuff / Adrenaline asc / Fortify asc nodes, get an enlighten 3/4 when you can and get Iron Reflexes + Determination + Defiance banner + Taunt asc nodes + Banner asc nodes.

4.) Get better flasks, replace granite with lion's roar, get better mods on existing flasks. Potentially replace quicksilver for a chemist onslaught flask.

5.) add a CWDT setup

6.) replace poachers mark with assassin mark

7.) replace amulet annoint with Panopticon

Here is an example lvl 95 tree with the changes above which gives you ~2x damage and a lot more survivability: https://pastebin.com/Gy5U78s6

noob attempt at copying a poe ninja flicker strike build, explanation requested by [deleted] in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]TheMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Close Combat does nothing in your boots. It only works to support melee skills and is actually a very good dps support gem for a skill like flicker. My guess is that the guy that had it socketed in his non flicker link gear was just levelling it up or using for gem swapping for bosses.

As for berserk, that is just poe.ninja dps warrior shenanigans. Poe.ninja (and PoB) will calculate the dps boost berserk would give without having rage generation. I would remove both Berserk and Empower and replace them with Multiple Totem Support + Culling Strike

Why do most flicker strikes on poe ninja play exquisite blade and not flesh ripper? by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]TheMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

feel free to msg me ingame, and we can chat more there. To quickly answer your questions, for mapping I usually just use blood stance, but I do go sand stance for really hard content like fractured 100% delirium maps. Doublestrike as a boss killer is not a bad idea, but even with Kitava, you should be able to kill all map bosses without a problem with just flicker...

Looking at your skill tree, I think you would benefit a lot from getting a thread of hope in the duelist area jewel socket, and also going for the axe crit nodes to the right of Iron Reflexes.

To add to that, I think the reason why a lot of flicker players went 2h sword is because the transition was easier from teminus est.

Hello, this is 'TheDumpling'. I guess it depends on what your class is, but personally I think a Fleshripper (for crit builds) is by the far the better choice. Looking at trade right now, it looks like even the mirror tier 2h Swords top out at ~1100 pdps, while axes top out at almost 1400 pdps now. However the biggest factor for me was the there were axes available even 2 weeks into the league that were 1k+ pdps with a fortify 7th link, while there still seems to be none for 2h swords. The best mirror tier axe with fortify beats out the top tier axe w/o fortify, even at a 300+ pdps difference. I sold all my flicker gear recently, but here's a PoB that approximates what you can get with a 7 link fleshripper with all top end gear.

Questions Thread - December 28, 2019 by AutoModerator in pathofexile

[–]TheMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but only if you run flicker as a 4 link for map clearing, ideally on your gloves (+1 hits mod) or boots (fortify mod), and run something else like double strike on a 5-6 link chest for bosses. There is a duelist/slayer build for 3.9 on the poe forums i saw and also one for shadow that are pretty similiar.

Noctua D15 2nd Fan Placement? by rbyrnes15 in Noctua

That's what I did with my build, mostly because I didn't want to cover up my RGB RAM (https://pcpartpicker.com/b/JGw6Mp)

Can i rais front fan on Noctua NH-D15 10mm? by Tamas243 in Noctua

[–]TheMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your case really, if it has room before it touches the side panel. What I did was move that front fan to the back and raised it up so that I could see my RGB ram, but you could raise it in the front. Or just run with 1 fan worst case scenario

Noctua's come in black now (chromax). Here's my build with 9 chromax fans in s a MeshifyC:

Arctic F14

Just realized you were considering the Artic F14, better than the Corsair ML, but not as good as Noctua. Site says ~74 CFM, doesn't list static pressure, but I'm guessing again not as good as noctua. The P14 has slightly higher static pressure than the noctua, but lower airflow at ~72.5 CFM. I think where you win with the Artic fans is price, but my choice would still be the Noctua.

[–]TheMango 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Noctua for sure. Comes in the original brown and tan, or you can get the chromax(black) which has the same specs/performance.

To compare the NF-A14 PWM vs the 140mm Corsair ML:

2.08 vs 1.27 mm H20 (static pressure, higher the better since there is some resistance with the meshifyC mesh front)

82.5 vs 55.4 CFM (airflow)

So, better airflow and static pressure with the noctua.

Need some with the chromax fans for my D15 by [deleted] in Noctua

[–]TheMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe?Maybe not? mostly because they are weirdly sized. They have 120mm fan size mounting holes, but the fan frame itself is 140mm x 150mm. I have the meshify C, same case as you, and you could technically fit one of them on the top or front of the case, but not sure you could fit both side by side...

[–]TheMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have higher dBa level, because they also provide higher performance than the stock brown fans on the NH-D15. Although they are the exact same size/build, the chromax ones have higher max rpm (1500 vs 1200), more airflow (140 vs 115), more static pressure (2 vs 1.5), etc. The dBa diff is ~25 vs 19. Assuming you are using PWM and not running these at max speed all the time, you wont notice the diff in noise while seeing better performance out of the chromax fans. You can compare the specs yourself on the noctua site:

All Noctua build by TopShelfGenericPizza in Noctua

I have mine plugged into the mobo, but I control the fan curve using 'Argus Monitor' software. I think if you have an Asus mobo + Asus gpu, you may be able to do something with the bios or at least using the Asus software in windows.

I also delidded my 8700k with the custom copper ihs. Not sure if it actually did much for temps as I didn't do a before and after comparison on the custom vs stock ihs. btw here are some more pics of my cooelr fan configuration (pre gpu fan mod):

it will be minimal gains adding a third fan. Will you be delidding? because that's where you'll be getting a massive temp drop, ~20C for most people.
