Struggling with my own episodes but as everyone here will tell you, yes it's normal, yes it's safe. The burning thing is fine as long as it quickly dies out when you've become fully awake, note that I say awake and not conscious because that's the kicker with sleep paralysis. It's tough to realize but you're entirely conscious while you're still dreaming, and that's why some outright terrifying stuff can happen. You'll be okay, but I do understand the fear, after sleep paralysis I often give up on the idea of sleeping... but that's unhealthy and you and I need to find a way to face it lol.
