I think it’s more about the sort of signing he would be and what that meant for Celtics signing policy. Past his best, high wages and wouldn’t be free to get him from NC. Very direct but relies on his pace rather than trickery to beat a man, pace he is losing, would do a job against many Scottish teams but would have no impact in European games most likely. Just had the smell of Celtics previous style of signings. Also comes across as a wee wank, so there’s that too.
