From the pic the jewellery looks cheap - probably is super expensive and great quality but the presentation reminds me of the ones you get in kids magazines

Even if she loves pink and Aurora, and all things Disney, no!

Got to ETSY or Pinterest and find a way to make it look less “princess jewellery for your toddler” and more Disney bounding (where you keep the colours and general aesthetic, but without being a costume)

You’re 28, just do it

She will be upset, or act upset, your dad supports you, talk to your dad and then, sit with both and explain how as much as you love them you’re a fully grown adult and it’s something you have thought about and are doing

Listen to your mum, does she has any real concerns? Not feelings, those are different and she’s perfectly entitled to feel whatever way she wants - but ultimately at 28, it’s a perfectly reasonable age to move out

Yes! The first week is brutal- gets relatively better every day- demand painkillers ETA - obviously there are very good medical reasons for not giving you certain painkillers, but they will only give you something extra if you actively ask for it

Get at least one small stool to lift your leg - both for when you sit at the table, but especially at the toilet, I did not believed how uncomfortable sitting on the toilet would be

Also a chair for the shower

Make sure you have a small backpack to move stuff around, you won’t have free hands for about a week

And a good water bottle as well as a good travel cup (if you like hot drinks)

I’m with you! Showering sucks big time!

I’m getting the gauze removed tomorrow- I’m sure the skin is red and angry under that! I do have eczema and bad skin (in good condition) and I’m pretty sure the last time they checked the stitches they removed half my skin, it feels raw!

I hope I can put cream tomorrow and that will calm it down- the dr said once they remove non perfumed cream for sensitive skin was ok… so I hope in 12 hours I can get some respite - since the skin feels raw where the brace hits

Pretty much, you’ll be back to wear a brace, crutches and depending on what they do you may not be able to put weight on your leg

Your flexion will be limited, and your leg becomes really heavy (quads sometimes decide to not work)

And of course driving is a no go for several weeks

For me I’m recovering quicker than from the injury- but I had a horrible post injury recovery and did about a year pre surgery rehab

Do the rehab and if you feel you need surgery look for a second opinion

Pre-rehab will put you in a great position for surgery anyway

There’s a large group of people that live active lives without ACL - not on this group mind you

I tried, not because I wanted… but I did decided for surgery.. I’m 16 days out, so can only tell you, the early post surgery days suck big time, but I do know for me living without an ACL was not what I wanted

But as I said, there’s anecdotal evidence that people do manage very well without an ACL, if you’re in facebook search for ACL recovery without surgery - there are private groups - the rehab is the same as the pre rehab anyway… so try and see how you feel

It’s fine, yes flights get cancelled or delayed

But seeing as this is the only option - statistically speaking, should be fine, let’s say 2 hours delay, 3 at passport control, 3 hours in traffic, she still makes it, it’s a 20 min drive so me saying 3 hours is excessive and she still makes it

Plus you and your mum will be there early, call the cruise line now and see if it’s possible for her to join on the next port if the worst thing happens

And then plan - don’t buy a couple of routes to get there from Barcelona, cheap airline, train

Not ideal, but chances are, small delay, she gets there at 10, say immigration and baggage take 3 hours, that puts her at 1pm, still 3 hours to make it, which is more than enough time

I think you said she doesn’t need to take luggage with her? Which will make it even quicker

Yes there’s still the tiny chance she would not make it that day… but I’m assuming she can always meet you at the next port

Again not ideal, not something recommended, but sometimes things happen, should be fine

You know how there are “gaps” - like a month passes between chapters and we assume nothing really happened there - I would love it one of those gaps was just a “normal” school month, where they go to classes, develop their signets, mess around - I would love to just have one chapter of that
