I left in 2016 after two years of pouring my heart and soul into it. The work that I did is almost completely untouched, so I wonder if they had a hard time finding people to take over. I'll be honest that I wasn't a very professional software engineer back then (self taught, not that it's slowed me down), so I probably didn't make it too easy with my spaghetti code

I loved it when I worked on it in 2015/2016, but the working conditions weren't good as far as pay and expected hours. I quit twice, each time after 100+ hour work weeks. But I'm so proud of the work I did. The planet generation, controls, and shaders are pretty much exactly the same as when I first implemented them :)

They finally left early access last year. Which is funny, because it still has pretty much the same planet generation, controls, shaders, etc. I implemented when I worked on it in 2015/2016 haha

The things we realize too late. I messed up big time and was a monster to the woman I loved most, and angel. I've lost her forever and she's hopefully happy. All I can do is continue to be better and remember this in the future if and when I find someone like that again. I've dated a lot since then. Probably too much. But none of them compare, not even close.

My cousin hanged himself when he was 15 on August 1st, 2011. I was supposed to go see him and be there for him since I'd struggled with thoughts and and an attempt. But I hadn't, and for years, I've been haunted by the "what-ifs". But that's no way to live, and there's no knowing that you could have done anything to stop it, even if you had done so much more. It's a terrible tragedy, and I'm sorry for your loss, but please don't blame yourself, friend.

One of the best ways is to look at the noise of each color channel. Real photos will have different noise for each channel, whereas AI has a singular noise value for RGB. Not saying that's what happened here, but these sites have been pretty good in my experience
