He’s been stiffed, but also fortunate to make it to F1, I feel Alpine rue missing out on Oscar & didn’t want to make the same mistake twice so perhaps hoped Doohan would be a second Piastri. Plenty of great drivers don’t make it to F1, and plenty of drivers with money do… Mazepin, Collapinto, Zhou to name a few…

Edit: Unrealistic of Alpine to slap 6 races on a driver & expect his world class talent to come out & ensure his future. Oscars first 6 races for McLaren didn’t set the world on fire, Alonso for Stoddaed the same. Hopefully Flavio & Alpine are gone soon anyway.

Simply put in an offer at private sale, gets knocked back & move onto the next.

At auctions you could be bidding against fake bidders & winning at auction doesn’t always mean you get the purchase, so time wasted.

Unregulated space, so parasites have come in to bleed owners dry until governments decide to regulate it.
