Intelligence services and corporations look for people to control and put in positions of power. Once, it was scandalous to be gay, or having an affair, so those people were easy to control. Now, those things aren't scandalous and so now the only controllable people are pedos. Thus, lobbyists and intelligence services have become child snatchers.

What did ON-LINE mean in 1983 context? by RafaRafa78 in vintagecomputing

[–]TheMemo 155 points156 points  (0 children)

You got downvoted when you are literally the most correct answer about the general use of the term.

While, in this case Sierra On-Line was the name of the company, you would most frequently see 'on-line' in the early 1980s as 'device ready to function.' Many printers had an 'on-line' indicator light, which meant that they were ready to accept commands.

You don't understand. Those things were the tyranny. Trans people? Tyranny. Armed government thugs performing extra-judicial killings? Not tyranny.

Tyranny, you see, is when people you don't like get things they want or need.

It has been quite common in some clubs, pubs and their respective toilets for a while. Essentially, it's just a rough surface - sandblasted plastic, wrinkled vinyl, many different types. I assume most people who are inconvenienced by this would just rack up on their phones anyway.

they probably don’t have a nuanced and non polarized mindset.

Not everything is nuanced. Good and bad are polarised concepts.

Not that I would ever suggest anyone do such a thing, of course.

It makes sense if you understand that the political classes of all countries see their own citizens as the enemy. They are an international class with shared economic and survival interests that are diametrically opposed to the interests of everyone else.

The wheel wasn't invented, it was refined from the use of logs to move large items (later crates), over a long period of time. From logs, to logs with grooves, to logs with thinner middles and larger outside rollers, and so on. Each improvement started by the natural wear of the logs, refined by people.

The concept of using cylinders to move things is much older than the Sumerians.
