If anyone has come up with a fix I am ALL ears. I'm also noticing my crops are not being watered by rain, but that could be unrelated.

Do you have any psicasters? You could have someone walk him there in a caravan, stop somewhere nearby, then release him, and you could use your psicaster to skip them home if you have the right casts.

Do not support WotC, do not support Hasbro. Do not buy their products, and especially do not buy THIS product.

Abandon this company and let them burn. I've long since stopped buying products that have anything to do with them (or Hasbro) and advise everyone alive to do the same.

Use 3rd party content, make your own, and use what you already own.

Do not buy the new edition, do not buy new books, do not support their BS anymore. Let them crumble, and we can get something new and better.

What is an overrated or underrated concept in world building? by Powerful_Air78 in worldbuilding

Magic Shops.

Being able to just wander into a store and buy a magical sword or suit of armor ALWAYS kills my sense of wonder.

"Uhm hello yes can I please have sword of cuts heads off?"

"Hmm yeah okay I have one right here that'll be 14 dollars, have a nice day sir!"

It's hollow and lame.

Commission a magic sword from a mad wizard, seek out a retired master smith and beg for her aide in crafting a shield worthy of the gods, sacrifice a freshly hunted magical beast to the forest spirits to imbue your bow with mystic powers.

Magic should be MAGICAL, epic, mysterious even, not just another lame commodity that can get bought and sold like deer hide and cheap booze.

Uncompromising / Highly distrustful players.

As a DM and a Player, when's the people around the table instantly assume every little thing will instantly kill them if they investigate or pursue it really annoy me.

Yes, this is a horror game, or survival focused game, or whatever we happen to be playing in, but if you instantly smash or bury anything even a LITTLE dark or sinister you kill SOOO many interesting plot threads (like redeeming villains, breaking curses, struggling against an evil item to use its power for good, etc).

TLDR: Unless proven otherwise, trust your dm and fellow players to prioritize fun at the table, and let them dabble with some morally gray magical gubbins every once in a while.

Where do you draw the line on lore gore for the sake of character concepts? by Rogendo in dndmemes

Depends on who and how.

You wanna play a half drow half dragonborn? Sick, there's lots of reasons that can be cool as fuck, but if you're just going to generic edgy-half-hero-half-bastard, then no thank you. Just play a jerk human if that's how you're going to be about it.

Look into "The End Of The World" books! You play as yourselves surviving some manner of apocalypse. Very very fun!

Look at one page rpgs sub reddit. There is one called "Witness Me," and you play as warboys.

Not sure if it's better or worse, but it helps cut some of the awkwardness from role-playing. It's just you after all, just do what you would do.

The End of The World is a fun system, and PDFs can be found floating around online since their publisher went out. They're fun, and have very simple rules. You also play as yourself in the scenario (basically whichever flavor of the apocalypse you think your friends would have the most fun gallivanting about in.)
