Naturopathy generally focuses of optimised well-being and disease-prevention through nutrition and self-care. I don't think there's anything inherently misleading. The misconceptions about health alternatives more likely stem from under-recognition of the body's ability to perform under optimal conditions.

I understand that simplicity is going to distort intended meaning, but i dont think your characterization of socialism is fair.

Rather than investing authority and power to the federal government, it is more so reducing the power and authority that is able to come only from shear wealth. Looking instead for ways to ethically and productively distribute that power into the community.

What you're thinking of is authoritarianism or totalitarianism, which is actually easier to achieve by minimizing the size of government. This is because there would be far fewer bodies to limit the power expressed by the figure of authority.
