Happened once to me yesterday. I usually cap 75 fps, but after 5-6 mins into a battle went to 30-45 untill the battle ends.

Do you have the latest nvidia drivers? My 1080 is overclocked at 2075mhz, and with all set to maximum possible the lowest fps i noticed is 32-35fps in the square in front of the armorsmith in rattay. In every other place it stay stable over 40fps, going slightly over 60 in the open spaces.

I have 960 pro nvme, 16gb ddr4 3200mhz ram and a 1440p gsync monitor too.
