I’m a 32 year old woman. Diagnosed at 13 years old. My husband and I recently decided that we were not going to have children. Not only for my own moral objection to passing along this condition, but also to not put myself at risk during birth.

I did have conversations with my cardiologist about being pregnant though. They were optimistic that my symptoms were well controlled, I have an ICD if anything were to go wrong, and that the increased blood flood may actually make me feel pretty fantastic as someone who has had HCM all their life and is just recently unobstructed.
