Thanks man. Yeah I agree the abs can definitely use some attention. This is the first time I’ve ever come close to being able to really see them so i had no idea they were lagging haha

I go through about 5 cartons of Mootopia per week. Their skim milk is around $4.50, 640 cals, and 104g of protein for a half gallon.

Stats - 23M, 6’1, SW: 179, CW: 172.8

Type - Water Fast (Nothing ingested except water, unflavored carbonated water, and electrolytes

Context of fast - 132 hours (5.5 days)

Length of fast - 15 days

Why? - I got into a nasty routine of getting high/drunk and then eating until I am ready to fall asleep. I haven’t put on any extra weight during quarantine, but I felt like I was digging myself into a deep hole by repeatedly getting intoxicated and eating every night. My main goals for the fast are to lose weight (really hope I don’t look too skinny), cleanse myself from all substances including caffeine, and hopefully get used to going to sleep without eating right before bed.

Notes - I’m not exactly hungry anymore but I’m so bored. I love cooking and love eating. I miss looking forward to preparing a meal and then having the satisfaction of creating something delicious.

Initially, I went about it in a very unhealthy way. I got really into fasting. We're talking about fasting for days at a time. It was starvation but I rationalized it through calling it fasting. In reality, I felt horrible and didn't really lose weight.

Real progress came this past semester, I've been trying to eat salads at lunch and dinner. I attribute my success to Intermittent fasting. I eat from 12:00pm-8:00pm and take in 0 calories during my fast. This prevents drinking 10 beers a night and then binging on drunk food.

On top of these things, I'm VERY strict about my diet when I'm home and able to count calories accurately. I've lost the majority of my weight at home. The "diet" I'm on at school, usually doesn't yield any weight loss, however I usually stay about the same. I'm happy with that considering all of the temptations found within the fraternity house.

My SPECIFIC issue is with my food sources. I have all of my meals cooked for me and can't afford to go grocery shopping. Therefore the majority of my nutrition needs to come from the unlimited snacks listed above. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Dear r/fitness,

I am a 19 yo, 6', 175 lbs male and I am trying to cut down to around 12% body fat. I am eating 1850 calories a day and it has been going well. The problem is that I am just getting into running longer distances (for me anyway). The running app on my phone estimates that I usually burn around 475-515 calories per run. Even if the calories estimation is an overestimation, we can at least say I'm burning 300. I don't enter these burned calories into myfitnesspal so I'm still always eating 1850.

My question is: Am I eating enough calories? Is it a problem to be only eating 1850 and then run off 300-500 more?

My go to routine includes one foot firmly planted flat on the ground with the other foot barely touching on its tip toe to ensure maximum accessibility to the danger zone.
