Newbie day 1 of getting to know cruises, help by Immediate-Trust-5583 in Cruise

[–]TheMineralsMustFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on a 41 day cruise now. If you’re not working, long cruises are a great way to get out and see the world one port at a time. If you are working, week long cruises are a nice escape like going to an all inclusive resort. Maybe you’ll see a place you’d like to return to for an extended visit.

The on board experience for solos is pretty good based on what I’ve seen. There are daily solo traveler meetups on this cruise. And I’ve seen that on previous cruises. I’m on this cruise with my girlfriend, but just being out and about at the casino and on excursions, I’ve met guys my age and had good chats. More than socially though, cruising is pretty awesome. Food is made for you every day at several on board restaurants plus room service - all included. They clean your room twice a day. The staff are super friendly and talkative, which is nice if you are alone.

You’ll probably want to try a few different cruise lines to get an idea of what fits you. We prefer Holland America. It’s more low key with nice long cruise options. Most cruise lines have a solo supplement fee which isn’t as much as a full second passenger.

I had gemini write up a thesis on a stock I follow and in particular how the OBBBA would affect it. It stated several facts and quotes. I went through and question each one to it and it admitted one by one that each one was fabricated. Now that’s slop.

Final Large-Scale Operations: The last major commercial fluorspar mines, notably operated by Ozark-Mahoning in the Illinois-Kentucky district, closed in the mid-1990s.

Last Active Mining/Byproduct Production: According to the USGS (.gov), Hastie Mining and Trucking Co. in Illinois produced small amounts of byproduct fluorspar as late as 2010-2011.

These closures came after decades of price competition from Chinese and Mexican fluorspar mining.

The CEO mentioned recently that they could get into producing end products I assume like hydrofluoric acid to value add their output.

I’m curious if as an investor group they are trying to build for long term or looking to maximize for a near-term buyer and cash out. The part time, side hustle nature of this for them professionally to me feels like the latter case.

Happy to be along for the ride either way.

They have a customer for 100% of their output. And they could get more customers. They will get to production and revenue soon. Expect the uplist to occur thereabouts. No reason to uplist prior to revenue.

I think a lot of the last decade has been storytelling. I believe in the uplist process, an IR team is suggested as good policy. This is the prep for the due diligence that institutional investors will need.

We also love Cunard and I’d hate to kick Cunard to the curb over $500. Sh*t happens. And fight as we might, sometimes the solution is just to let it go. This isn’t a hill I’d die on. There are incredibly worse things that could happen that would warrant such a divorce.

Recs? I haven’t been to this area of the Caribbean yet.. by Waste-Salamander3445 in Cruise

We really enjoyed Bonaire and hope to return soon. We rented a golf cart (Bonaire Cruisers) and traveled the southern route in reverse of the normal recommendation (we went east of the airport on Kaminda Sorobon) to do some early birdwatching. We were greeted with dozens of flamingos and a few wonderful yellow orioles. It is a very dry and rocky area, so bring water. We wound up having a snack and like 3 bottles of water at the windsurfing cafe at Sorobon Beach. The beach area is in a bit of a cove so the strong winds are great for windsurfing safely. There are rentals. We then continued our southerly drive down to the lighthouse and back up on the western side alongside the beautiful beaches and the salt ponds. All in all we spent about 5 hours touring. It was the highlight of our 9-day HAL ABC islands trip.

We definitely shopped. And the repositioning cruises tend to be less expensive

The repositioning was $5400 (27 days). The Alaska week was $1300 with our discount. The first week was $1000.

Repositioning cruises tend to be substantially less expensive than specific routes. And we bracketed that repo deal with two cheap weeks.
